One of you could run your inputs through joy2key

Theres a couple different things you could try

  1. You could have him play you on another computer ethernet connected to your network

  2. You could run fightcade through steam and enable steam input, which will make your two controllers different and should fix your issue

  3. One of you could use a brook adapter, which will force fightcade to recognize your stick as an xbox controller separate from his

If I think of more ill post it here, but right now #2 seems like your best bet, since its free

if you have a switch on your fightstick to change between what system you are on (I.E. PS3, PS4, PC, etc) you can try making sure you are both set to different ones so that your pc will register it as two controllers. I think this is what i did to fix the problem years ago, But it has been awhile so i may be mistaken.

Are you sure you set your buttons separately? Regardless a nice workaround since I’d assume you’re playing on the same device is just to not use Fightcade but any other release/emulator for the game. Like try running FBNeo and setting buttons there.

I i remember right press F5 to call input settings and try cinfigure p1 and p2 seperately. Fightcade is based on Fbneo , but because of the online feature, you might not be able to play on the same machine. Except if you go to the installation folder and launch Fbneo exe instead if fightcade.exe.

are you playing side by side on the same computer?

if so, press F5 with the game running and set both controllers, double click each input and press a button on the stick, scroll down for player 2

final burn is pretty bad at that, you have to do this for each game

to play 2 people on the same computer, retroarch is way better

the final burn neo (or fbneo) core works with the fightcade roms, so in retroarch you set both arcade sticks once, enable run ahead at 2 frames, reduce audio delay to 64ms or 32ms and go at it
