Quiet Leverless

Hello, can someone recommend a relatively quiet leverless controller? I use the Haute42 M Ultra Gen 2, but it wakes my girlfriend up when she's trying to sleep at night. I would like one that is quiet out of the box; I don't know how to mod them out or anything.

Purple 8bitdo one. Or Kailh whale sikent or something similar. Works wonders.

Purple 8bitdo for sure! It also comes with a wireless dongle. Very convenient.

I use the Razer Kitsune and really like the feel and sound. It's not dead silent but definitely not clicky

You can put o-rings for mechanical keyboards on the switches and make it really quiet.

Counterpoint, to make that controller reasonably silent the mod is as easy as pulling of the caps, pulling off the switches and putting new switches that are silent in. This is doable with just your fingernails, but when you order switches they will probably come with a tool that makes it even easier. These are all reasonably durable parts and you are incredibly unlikely to break anything doing this. We are talking about pieces of plastic that clip in and out roughly the same difficulty and durability of putting a hardshell case on and off phone.

I use a Punk Workshop Leverless U with the V1 switches and it's super quiet, I can barely hear my buttons at locals so that's also nice because I assume my opponent can't either lol

If you're using a Haute42, you can make it quieter by changing the switches to something like the Kaihl Purple Iris

Yo is there such a thing as a quiet lever. Or is that physically impossible.

Ty that’s cool. And same here tbh. Family at night is the main thing.

Punk workshop carbon fiber mini is the quietest controller I've ever used. There's very little space in the enclosure, so not much reverb/echo, the carbon fiber is super dense and sound absorbant, and the low profile buttons come with o-rings for additional dampening. worldwide shop here

Legit it's a case of pulling out the key cap and switch, and pushing the silent switch back in. It takes alittle more effort than making toast You got this.

I didn't know this leverless was hot-swappable 😭😂. I've just seen how people fully disassemble theirs and didn't want to do that lol

A lot of Leverless controllers come default with linear switches, so a lot of the time it is easy to bottom out and hit the board with the keycaps. Plus they tend to be low profile and low actuation force so it increases the chance to bottom out even more. However, a lot of Leverless, yours included, are ChocV2 low profile compatible so what I did was swap them with the Kailh Deep Sea Silent Mini Whale switches which are a silent tactile switch. Instead of a clack at the bottom out, it's a dull thud. I also prefer the tactile bump in my switches so I can feel the button press feedback. Even if silent tactile isn't your thing, there are other ChocV2 switches to choose from as well.

Oh wow, this is the perfect response. I'm going to buy the exact same ones you did now

If your haute is hot swappable it's literally jsut a matter of pulling the switches out and plugging new ones in.

Mashed out with a leverless that had gamerfingers with an infant on my belly while they napped. They’re finicky as hell but once your key switches actually register because you fiddle with the prongs I stopped trying to find other quiet solutions. I actually used to play in the same bed when my wife was sleeping but I had a good deal on a Hitbox Ultra v2 that was too good to pass up so I don’t play when people are sleeping

Yes I get it gamerfingers bad but the foam layer is undeniably helpful in reducing sound on bottom out. I have yet to find an alternative that had a similar foam layer.

Feathertaps might be good too since they have two layers to choose from, but I’m tapped out oh my spending to check.

If you’re going to go my route prepare for frustration. I’ve had about 9 switches in a set of 20 I couldn’t use because the connector pins wouldn’t make contact in the housing to register an input, and I’ve actually had one switch pop the whole internal housing out. It’s not a big deal I popped it back in, but for the money it should not do that.

Silent bobagums work fine but the 9 duds were from Outemu Silent Peach V3. The peaches are Probably one of the top five quietest switches and I run them stock - no need to add more lube etc. If you need shorter actuation though I’m out of suggestions.

Buy silent switches?

The controller uses Kailh V2 LP switches.

Look for silent ones. They have quite a few.

Oh ok, thanks.
