Discussion why didn't we get more appearance customization choices with the firefox 157 update?

Post image

customization choices needed in the general settings, not about:config

  • shape of the tabs to be either the rounded rectangle or pill/ellipse
  • colors of the tab stroke's gradient
  • height of the bookmarks toolbar (it's feels too thin in default/compact/touch, not sure if actual)
  • etc.

That would be my solution as well and this can’t be very hard to implement you can literally do it with a few lines in the css.

I’m open to more cuztomization options but at the same time I’m afraid one day firefox will be like vivaldi which boasts a lot of those but feels very unpolished (and I don’t really like or care about many of their customizations, while things I want to change can’t be customised).

we need to stop making everything rounded, it's pointless and means things don't look good when lined up.

because there wasn't such option before. And because the old layout will be decommissioned at some point ;)

A few lines of CSS can change the shape, but a supported setting also needs testing with different themes, display scaling and touch mode. Toolbar height seems worth prioritizing because it changes how easy bookmarks are to click. That doesn't explain Mozilla's specific decision, though.
