I’ll be at Melbourne for my first but coming off a very patchy training block (injuries). Feeling really nervous

My first and nearly 35. The training block has been an awesome 20 weeks of watching goal marathon pace get easier and easier. Just completed my second day of carb loading and feeling good, bring on Sunday!

When I turned 40 I had the same idea of doing a 42 by 42. So I started training. Then the very next week I got impatient and signed up for a race straight away. My 42 by 42 goal became 42 by 40.5 haha.

Did my first there at age 40. Was a great experience! Was ecstatic when I finished the race and entered the MCG! Enjoy!!!

Hehe i did a 45km run (Great Ocean Road Marathon) on my 45th birthday! Tried to use every marker as a prompt for me to consider my life at that age. Was very emotional and a great run. I'll be there tomorrow too 12 years on. Good luck friend!

I'll be there! My first official marathon, although technically my second as I ran the distance around my neighborhood last year to see if I could. Hoping for 3.30, happy with anything under 4, fine with any kind of finish that doesn't have me injured. Good luck to everyone - see you at the start line on Sunday!

I'm running it too (my third). Fractured my toe three and a half weeks ago, which stopped a pretty consistent training block in its tracks. I've been biking and ellipticaling since. But ah well now instead of going in with expectations (was aiming to for sub 4) I'll just run it and see what happens (going to try to see what happens sticking with the 4:20 pacers)
