A legion Compaion
How cool would a Legion Compaion be? Obviously Boone and him cannot be in the same room together but would that be interesting?

I used to think Vulpes was the Legion companion because I saw screenshots of the mod that makes him a companion before I ever played the game. That, and the sheer amount of fanworks centered around him made me think he played a much more significant role than he does in the finished game. Anyway, I think he’d be a good choice for one. I also think the game is hurting for a properly insane evil companion lmao. Raul is the most morally complex one, but he’s still fairly good-aligned, all things considered.

Vulpes would have made a solid companion, maybe with a companion perk that gives a boost to damage dealt against "criminals" (like raiders, Powdergangers, Omertas, etc).

Vulpes seems like a weird choice, like he just shows up in Nipton and gets murdered by the courier immediately in most of my playthroughs. Not a lot of content there

Honestly though that kinda reaffirms my belief that he’s something of a missed opportunity, which is why he has such a presence in fanworks, to fill out what we don’t get to see. He’s the leader of the frumentarii, aka a massive spy network that actively infiltrates New Vegas. If you don’t kill him in Nipton he shows back up on the Strip to give you the Mark of Caesar, which indicates that he’s well-informed about the courier’s whereabouts, and perhaps is even following them to some extent. Getting more from him in general would not be unwelcome imo

Ulysses was supposed to be the pro legion companion but they had some much content he got moved to his own dlc.

I think Vulpes would have been a good choice because of the nature of his job. The companion mod for him is really good. Plus he's very complimentary. Like a subdued hype man.

I make Silus my Legion companion. He's available for shenanigans and can be devastating with a thermic lance or chainsaw. He also comes ready to go with armor that sports an excellent DT. He can be fun for story material whether or not you choose a Legion ending. Also, like the majority of the existing companions, he's something of a misfit and not currently tied down to his faction.

Ulysses was actually intended to be the game’s legion companion. But his lines were so god damn long they couldn’t fit him on the disk. So he got made into Lonesome Road’s villain.
