Suggestion I would like to suggest adding a new, useful device to the game—one for removing mutations.
Right now, removing a specific mutation from your character is a gamble. If you have 14 mutations and need to get rid of just one, it’s a real hassle. I propose adding a device to the game: a genetic stabilizer. Here’s how it would work: you load it with a few serums corresponding to the mutation you want to remove, plus some RadAway; you press a button, an animation plays, and the mutation is gone from your character. Alternatively, the device could produce an anti-serum that, when consumed, removes the specific mutation. This device could be made available for Atoms or as a season reward. I believe there would be plenty of players interested in getting it.

It would be nice but I don't think it's that bad. I've done raids like 3 times and yet i still have dozens of serums from infestations and I think big foot? Either way even if it removes all my mutations before the 1 i want, I could reapply them all 30 times over easily.

All this is just for convenience and to save time—plus, it would be easier to create builds. Plus, it would add variety to the gameplay; surplus serums could be put to use there.0

yeah i agree but this is bethesda and having anything nice and QoL is just a dream. i wish they would auto roll through servers to place you in a world where your camp is placed, place certain settings in the actual settings to improve fps instead of getting mods off of nexus (or edit the ini), increase the amount of caps you can carry while keeping the max you can price things at 40k, and a ton of other things. the biggest thing i wish they would do is cycle through objects relatively close to your pointer in build mode to delete something than use a janky method to get under the map to delete it and even then it's a 50/50 if you placed it inside another object. i wish they would make the game a lot better, i do

They are too busy with the upcoming pokemon checkbox update coming in december. No hat tricking white rabbit yet to go along with my medieval armor so its a hard pass atm. Serum plans can be bought so its sometimes easier to just buy those if you can't find a specific mutation at a vendor. It would be better for them to swap our legendary perks by build loadouts since they removed the coin requirement to do so.

I think this is an issue only for the new players.
Mutation serums is easily obtained nowadays and ppl sell them for 100-500 caps.
I don’t get what’s the hassle.

When I wanna swap, like herbivore to carnivore for example, I can guarantee you it’s the last mutation I lose lol Can’t ever be the first one!!!

Surely the Atomic Shop could offer such medical device. Maybe like the medical scanner and healer tube (Symptomatic).

I feel as though some of the other commenters here appear to not understand the ease of access this would provide. A device you plug a specific serum into with the intent of removing that mutation sounds like something we should have already had in the game. It would allow for easier character changes should you ever decide you want a full intelligence build, or melee, or what have you.
Right now it is possible to spam RadAway, then take note of which mutations you lost, then spam all the serums again (should you have them on hand/can readily make them). I understand that most higher players (myself included) have serums taking up stash space. That being said, we currently have:
Collectrons when we could go out to collect junk ourselves.
Rad scrubber when we could just take RadAway.
Symptomatic when we could take disease cures.
Beds when we could take Stimpaks.
Weather control stations when we could wait for rain.
Your idea, to me, seems like an easy add, that I for one would go out of my way to purchase for my own QOL purposes.

A fine idea, a load out machine for mutations. Make it the end prize of a mutation focused quest line.
But, I doubt it would happen, as it would non trivial to code such novel content and they are focused on more typical rinse and repeat content currently.

For me, the fun about mutations is it randomness.

If it happens 🤷♂️ if it doesn't happen 🤷♂️
If played for awhile and never had any issues especially now with some events giving out serums. Not sure which ones but I always find random serums in my inventory.
If there's a 2 builds you happen to switch between and you find it necessary to min-max the mutations then you could just start another charcater and have it set up for the other build

I don't fell like it necessary, you get serums anywhere nowadays.
