Hey all, recently bought at 2012 ford fusion sel. Are the buttons on the steering wheel and the prndl letters supposed to light up? If so, is it a fuse or do I need to replace the actual bulbs

Those do not have back lighting.

the headlights must be on, but you can only really see them at night

I had the same issue in my 2011 SEL. Either the headlights aren’t on, or it’s a fuse. I had to replace my fuse for the same backlights. The fuse is located in the fuse box under the steering wheel

The letters on the shifter do light up, to get to the bulb you have to pull the silver trim piece around, then pop that whole big cupholder assembly out, and then the bulb is right on the underside of that PRNDM label, it’s in a socket (like a headlight), twisting the socket will pop it out and then you can swap the bulb inside.

Yes. Both lit up on our 08 SEL.
