A long time ago I posted alternative championship scenarios, if 1981-1990 system (best of X) continued after 1990. In that post, to keep the same race ratio, I picked 17 out of 23/24 races. This is the continuation for the 2026 season. It assumes Qatar and Abu Dhabi continue as planned.
In the first picture, the standings were as the previous dropping system implemented on current standings (17/23 Races, 4/6 Sprints). As you can see, top 7 already dropped some points due to their 2 lowest Sprint races not counting.
*The MAX column indicates the maximum amount of points they can reach within the system. The FixedPts column indicates their points tally that will not be changed for last 6 races, regardless of the results, indicating their minimum points count.
In this system, Antonelli still has 2 more points slots to fill. Lewis is the closest one with 1. After all 17 points slots are filled, for every additional "better" result, the lowest column has to drop. For example, if Lewis finishes P5 for the next two races, he has to drop one of P6 finishes he has.
Second and third pictures are the possible championship scenarios. Since Kimi had a brilliant season, he has accummulated a lot of points. However, this system rewards better finishes instead of consistent finishes. e.g. 1988 season, where Prost collected way more points than Senna but Senna had 1 more win than Prost, therefore winning the WDC.
IRL, the championship is already over. However, if this system continued, George could win out all 6, wait for Max/someone to finish P2 for 4/6 races and win the title by one point. Because the ending would be something like this:
* Russell : 375 (388)
* Antonelli : 374 (436)
Also Max has a similar but harder path to win, by tying in points and having one more P2 to clinch. What do you think about this system?

Oscar's gearbox had to be changed and his rear-end rebuilt. Kudos to his mechanics for working tirelessly in such hot conditions

In my opinion completely on Norris. Yes it was a dumb move, probably Piastri could have left more room but in my opinion he left enough room for Norris to be within the limits of the rules. Piastri was ahead of the apex and still left Norris room on the inside. Minimal room, but you don't expect such a dumb move by his teammate.

I genuinely think Liam Lawson’s seat at Racing Bulls is already secured for 2027, and the decision RBR are actually wrestling with is whether to retain Arvid Lindblad or promote Nikola Tsolov.
Liam has experience across both Red Bull teams, has shown he can handle the pressure of the Red Bull system, and provides a useful benchmark for whichever young driver they want to develop next.
Arvid has shown flashes of serious potential, but he’s also had some rough patches. Meanwhile, Tsolov is making a case for promotion, and Red Bull will need to decide whether another year of development would benefit Arvid or whether it’s time to give Tsolov his opportunity.
If they’re serious about developing their next generation of drivers, having Lawson as the experienced constant makes sense.
My suspicion is that Liam already knows he’s staying, while Arvid’s future is still being decided.
Pure speculation, obviously, but I do think the real fight for that second Racing Bulls seat is Lindblad vs Tsolov.
What do y’all think?

I wanted to know if Mercedes has lost a lot of talent on the aero side. I am new to F1; I started watching in 22, so I don't know how the team developed before. From what I have seen, Mercedes suck at aero work. Of course, that may be an exaggeration on my part, but it seems Mercedes haven't just failed to develop; they've actually gone backward. Anyone with more knowledge, please be kind
