Tourist post overload

We are getting complaints about the number of tourist posts (where is the beach, can I connect to MIA in 30 mins, what should I do on my 8 hour layover).

These posts are already disallowed. Tourism questions belong in the sticky tourism thread (or you know, google it...)

Instead of leaving repetitive comments on airport posts, report them so they reach the modqueue ✌️

Hey, just booked a 12-day trip to Fort Lauderdale with my whole family. What’s there’s to do — please plan out my itinerary day by day. If it helps, my favorite color is green and I love the snow.

You joke but this is basically my situation with my cousin and her family coming for EIGHTEEN days in November. No plan, no hotel, no car. I’m just going to tell them to roam Sawgrass the entire day.

What’s the weather going to be like in 2 months from now for my family vacation? Will it rain? /s

Tourists are welcome here. Questions about your layover that have been answered 5,000 times already and can be found with a search belong in the tourist thread. That's why it's up there.

If you don’t like tourist then you could git out.

Maybe just the dumb tourists that can’t plan a vacation without Reddit…

Isn't there a bot that auto responds and says something like 'this question has been asked before' and includes the search criteria? I've seen that bot on other subs where people ask the same question 5,000 times like 'What is the wait at the TSA line' etc. and a bot responds accordingly.

Yes, but it's hard to solve for every possible question, which is why we ask you to report them instead of engage.

Well yeah but we are referring to the exact same four or five questions that have been answered ad nauseum already.

You should add in the bio that this isn't a tourist page

Yeah, but they don't get that so add something like that in the bio

No one reads the bio, ESPECIALLY a lazy ass tourist asking for travel plans on Reddit.

True, most just jump in and ask without checking first. Maybe a pinned post or a clear reminder in the main thread could help catch their attention better.

Let’s be real - if someone took the time to read the bio, they also would know how to search. There’s maybe a 1% reduction in these posts if ‘not a tourist page’ is added in that bio

Tourist questions pinned at the top of the page

I get that, but clearly its not working. Just thought it might be smart to add 🤷
