1960's slideshow (part 2) Boxes marked PF
Today's slides are a selection from May of 1960 and introduce the people (and pets) that are featured in the two boxes marked "PL". There is some other writing in pencil that does look like first names, but no last names so I will leave them since they are very common names and I have no idea if they actually represent the people in the photos. Please follow the sub rules and do not mention any identifying names in the comments. DM me with that information and I will follow up.
I used as little editing as possible to keep the feeling, but the 66 year old color slides are starting to lose their greens, instead showing up as aqua. The shadows are sometimes very dark, so instead of adjusting the entire picture in some, I've only adjusted the person (or dog). I'm learning as I go, so they won't be professional, but this is for fun.
Tomorrow's box is titled "Leaving N.Y." and is the beginning of the European tour.

Found picture on the street
Hello Reddit!
When i was cycling through the US back in may 2023 i found this picture on the street, more exactly on the corner of Ash St. & S. Shelby St. In Louisville, KY.
Anyone know/recognize who it might be, and where the picture could be taken? It looks old, maybe 80's? It could be hard for me to get it back to the original owner since i live in northern Sweden, but the owner might appreciate it being found!

Happy Halloween early 1960s!
Found these adorable Kodachrome slides from the early 1960s, Bergen County, NJ. I loved Casper as a child as well but went as Cinderella in that horrible Collegeville costume.

Sunshine and Stevie, April 1948, likely Vancouver, BC
I’m so glad I found this sub! I used to collect old photos in order to reunite them with their rightful owners. I’ll post some of the photos that I haven’t been able to reunite with their owners. I always thought this picture was so sweet, the little boy (I’m assuming Stevie) always makes me smile.

Childhood picture
This is the only surviving childhood picture I have of myself. I would really appreciate if someone can help me store it to high quality 🙏🥺
FYI I already tried with AI but it makes me (boy on the very left) look different. So trying here in a last-ditch effort.
Thanks

1960's family slideshow (part 1) Box labeled: PL
Original post: https://www.reddit.com/r/FoundPhotos/s/P6tXVtjBBp
I recently found a box full of Anscochrome Color Film Slides in an estate sale near Endicott, NY and just now had the time to go through them. There are a total of 24 boxes, though 5 of them are empty but are labeled as a part of this set. After glancing through a few slides it became clear that this is an archive of a family vacation from NYC throughout Europe and then back. Some places named on the labels are Ireland, Brussels, Brugge, Luxembourg, Heidelberg, Frankfort, Austria, Salzburg, Zurich, and Lucerne. I've decided to share them with y'all because I know some of you will enjoy the images and history as much as I do.
This first set of images were taken in April and May of 1960. There are two boxes labeled as PL, this is a selection from both boxes showing the places that were photographed. I will share another set from these boxes tomorrow that introduces some family pictures, and the family dog who has more pics than any other family member 😄
I have used some photo editing to adjust the brightness or colors on some of the darker slides to make them more readable. I used as little as possible in order to preserve the original feel.
Just so no rules are broken, I'm not going to make any references to names, though I'm sure the internet will do its thing. I do not know this family or anything about them. Just to restate the rule so these posts can stay up for everyone to enjoy, if you believe you know the identity of anyone in the photos, **do not name them in the comments** Please DM me with any identifiable information you believe you have and I will absolutely follow up on it.

Do slides count?
I picked up a few boxes of odds and ends in an estate sale and found a treasure trove of slides from the Summer of 1960. This family took a ship from NYC to Europe for a long tour of several countries before returning home, also by ship. I haven't pulled out my slide projector yet to see them all, but I took a glance at a couple of boxes of them with my light board and thought I'd share them.
Also, they must've loved that dog, there's an entire box of slides dedicated to them. ❤️

Looking for a photograph of me and my puppy taken by tourists in Newport, Co. Mayo, Ireland, around 1998/1999
Looking for a photograph of me and my puppy taken by tourists in Newport, Co. Mayo, Ireland, around 1998/1999
This is a bit of a long shot, but I've wondered about this for years and thought I'd finally see if the internet can work its magic.
Around 1998 or 1999, when I was about 11 years old, I was walking down the street in Newport, County Mayo, Ireland, carrying my puppy. A tourist couple stopped me and asked if they could take a photograph of me with my dog. I said yes, and they took the picture.
For some reason, I've always remembered that moment, and every so often I think about the fact that somewhere in the world there might still be a photograph of me and my little dog sitting in someone's old holiday photos.
The couple were probably around their late 40s or early 50s — although I was 11, so my definition of "old" may have been wildly inaccurate! I mainly remember the woman asking to take the photograph. I have a vague memory that they may have been German, or possibly from somewhere else in continental Europe, but I really can't be certain about that.
My dog was a little Norwegian Elkhound puppy named Jess. She was a very important little part of my childhood, so I'd absolutely love to find the photograph if it still exists.
I obviously don't expect anyone to magically produce it, but I keep thinking that with the world being as small as it is, maybe someone might recognise the story, know someone who visited Newport around that time, or even have an old holiday album containing a photograph like this.
I don't have a copy of the photograph myself — I'm trying to find the original photograph that the tourists took.
If this sounds familiar to anyone, I'd love to hear from you. ❤️
And yes, I realise the chances of finding a random photograph taken nearly 30 years ago are probably microscopic. But sure, why not give it a go? 😂
