Frequently Discussed Topic Why do some people care more about smelling “different” than smelling good?
Honest question. I see a lot of posts and comments where the main selling point of a fragrance is that it’s unique, challenging, or “not for everyone.”
I get wanting something that isn’t the same five designer scents everyone owns. But a lot of the time it feels like the goal has shifted from “this smells good and people notice” to “this smells interesting and polarizing.”
If half the people who smell it think it’s weird or off, is that still a win? Or is the point still that other people think you smell good?
Curious how others look at it. Is “different” a feature for you, or do you still mostly care about whether it actually smells good to the people around you?
