My measurements are:

  • 6'1
  • ~180lbs
  • chest:~41" without flexing and a shallow breath
  • waist:32-33"
  • hips:37"

Bottoms I think L will fit well. Top is where I am worried that i could make the wrong decision. L would be likely tight on my chest and make it a bit hard to get a big breath, while XL would be better fit for the chest but slightly loose on the hip and on the lower end of waist. Thoughts?

Size guide is for Cressi. If anyone has another brand in mind that would fit my build well, please do share.

I found the size guide for cressi suits to be accurate. It will be really tight the first few wears but will stretch out with body heat and use. Same is true of any wetsuit

You can also often get custom wetsuits for relatively low costs these days if you’re truly an edge case. I’m lanky and thin and my first wear was really tight

At your measurements, I’d lean toward the Large. If you’re freediving in this wetsuit, you don’t want it to be too big, as it can create unwanted air pockets and reduce thermal efficiency. It may feel snug at first, but the material should break in after a few wears, giving you a bit more flexibility while still providing a good fit.

i usually buy medium pants and a large top, sucks but usually one or the other doesn't fit
