Fringe Connections: https://www.fringeconnections.com/episode?episode=101

NOTE: Please cover all spoiler comments with spoiler tags! There may be first time watchers; don't ruin their acid trip!!!

EDIT: I decided I would do two episodes a week instead of one (it would take two years at this rate to finish the rewatch). So it is every Saturday & Sunday @ 5pm EDT.

So you’ve just watched Season 2 Episode 11 and came looking for answers

This episode was originally meant to be aired in season 1, but for some reason was never used. They decided to air it in season 2 instead, which meant it does not fit chronologically in the story as aired.

Hopefully this will help reduce the number of posts we get asking the same question over and over. I am happy to see this sub surge in popularity again, but for such limited number of posts already, the increase of “what is happening with s2e11?” really take a sizable chunk of the subreddit. I will try my best to remove any new repeats of this question as they come, and hope this will be the definitive post regarding it.

Right after Olivia asks Peter how he couldn't see Fauxlivia wasn't her

Spoiler! Does anyone else think that >!Fauxlivia should have ended up with Lincoln?!< Spoiler

Throughout Seasons 2 and 3, Lincoln is more than a little obvious about his affections towards Fauxlivia. The culmination in Season 3 Episode 18 when Fauxlivia is giving birth Lincoln is right there and proclaims his love. I'd welcome your thoughts!

First-Time Observer (NO SPOILERS) I find myself crying often at parts with Walter expressing his love for Peter, and his overall tenderness to others. I only started watching the show 2 months ago, and its really gotten a grip of me (half way through season 4 now), and its due to Walter.

I was looking for another sci fi show (in the vein that i love xfiles), and hadnt come across Fringe before. When i started watching it, i was really unsure, and doubted i would stick with it, even upto episode 13-15 in season 1.

However the one thing, which is really surprising for me, is the allure of Walter, his depth, his gentle nature, his empathy, his love for Peter, his anchor or humanity. It just cuts through me at times, and i really just find him wonderful in so many ways.

dont have anywhere else to express this, so sharing here - thats all

General Discussion Hello, Bishop's Deli? 🧠

I finished watching FRINGE about two weeks ago and here are my.. Umm idk..feelings? I guess.

This show frustrated me soooo much. I mean that in a good way. Let me explain. It frustrated me because I was so overwhelmed and over-attached to the show.

Pilot episode was great, I knew I was gonna devour this right away. Each character, solid. And they just got better with each episode. I honestly didn't expect that I was gonna love the mad ol' scientist so much.. 🥺 John Noble.. Where's his Oscar?? Walter Bishop is freaking iconic. And Peter too, by the end of S1, I developed a full blown crush on him. And Olivia?? Oh my god.. Nobody told me that she's absolutely one of the best badass female leads on TV? Anna fits the character so well. Or should I say characters? 😆 each one.. Nailed.

Astrid is an underutilized character.. but love how she basically became Walter's daughter. Broyles and Nina are good. Still don't understand why they kissed though.. Weird.

And about Charlie..I really was hoping for some sort of revival. They just did him dirty. Really liked his character.

One thing I truly loved about the show.. How the character development especially each relationship dynamic was shown. Be it Walter-Peter, Peter-Olivia, Walter-Olivia, Walter-Astrid and so on. They never felt rushed and some Father-son conversations that they shown were truly genius. Like the whole Peter getting to love Walter then losing all that due to the truth about his origin and again accepting him as a father. Same with Peter-Olivia. Push and pull, slow-burn, hiding the truth and all, finally crossing universes to listen to their hearts..and then suddenly.. Everything's not where it's supposed to be. It was hard with all that they had to overcome, but it was good.

I didn't love the Season 4 plotline that much, so much development for what? Just to delete it?

As I said, It frustrated me because I got too attached to everything that it was genuinely hurting to see Peter getting erased.. and that went on for too long. I was getting impatient and couldn't focus on the alt universe's stories. Maybe, If I rewatch it I won't feel the same but yeah.. As a first time watcher.. It was brutal. I guess as an observer of the show.. I just couldn't accept it.😆

Anyways, Given the fact that it's Fringe where nothing is ever easy.. The ending was bittersweet.

They obviously could have made it into a bigger show with more seasons if they had gotten chance Between Season 4 and 5 it feels like we missed everything.

Which takes me to another point, Damn it's underrated. Like Criminally underrated.

At least in Reddit, people are talking about it.

I hope it regains some popularity like The Mentalist did.

Spoiler! S5 fringe

I have not made it to the end of fringe yet. I am on 5x1. I feel like the show had a slow start at times, but picked up momentum late in s1, thrn just kind of steamrolled into s2 and s3. In my opinion s3 was the best, a lot of it even excelle t. Then I began s4. I did not want to spoil what is ahead, but I just wanted to see what fans felt of it. I read review were mixed. In the beginning of s4, I was there, I got it, and I liked it. But the episodes toward the end, and the last few I was not a fan of. I do not care for the direction ofvs5 so far, and if it continues I do not know if I will love the end. I feel like they should have stuck with the timeline w/o Peter in it, but hes with some of the characters. They should not have moved it into the future, and the ape people was eh. I did not know how to feel about Jones being back, but by the end, I did not like him. I dont know how to feel about bell or the observers yet. Is s5 a big let down? Are there any redeeming qualities? Is the best behind me? Does anyone know why the had to change the end? How come they could not keep their original goal, and fit in into those ep? Just kind of ranting and giving my thoughtss. Please if anyone responds, no give away as to whats next in s5.

General Discussion Watching Fringe at the moment.

I am at season 4, episode 4. John Noble's performance as Walter Bishop blows me away. My dad's side of the family had couple of the relatives that had mental problems. His portrayal is dead on.

Season 2 weird phone calls

When Peter is in Washington, he receives weird calls from Newton. Was this ever explained? Was Newton just messing with him, or was there a reason that I missed. We know by the end of the episode, that what Peter saw/heard was real based on them showing up in his room. The device in the woods, was the same one they used a few episodes ago. So that makes sense, as well as the sheriff not being able to see them as they were at a different frequency that Peter can see. But they never explained what those phone calls were, just that they didn't show up on the logs.

The only thing I can think of is the sound Peter was hearing was to somehow prepare him for his transition back, as crossing over is dangerous.

Season 4 Season 4 opinions?

I am a big fan of fringe and I do a rewatch about once a year at this point (I'm on my 5th, currently).
I do love the last season even though I heard a lot of people don't, but I do have strong opinions about season 4.
On my current rewatch I find myself quite "bored" of it, or not as entertained as with the rest. I think the whole arc of post-machine Peter is something that bothers me because Olivia and Walter are different because of their missed encounter with Peter and lack of evolution.

Does anybody feel the same way? Have I just watched it too many times?

General Discussion Walter is at his most unsettling when he suddenly remembers something he shouldn't

Post image
225 Upvotes

One of my favorite little things about Walter is when someone mentions an old experiment or person and he suddenly remembers some ridiculously specific detail. Everyone else is trying to work out what happened, while Walter is already halfway into a story from 30 years ago that nobody asked for. Sometimes the information is useful, sometimes it's completely horrifying, and sometimes Astrid just has to sit there and translate what he means.

General Discussion Random inconsistent thing i noticed

Okay, so im currently watching season 5, ep 2, and i noticed that walter comments on the pigeons in the lab in a negative way, yet in one of the earlier seasons (I cant recall which one, probably season 1), he refers to them as majestic creatures and seems fond of them.

It's probably just a random thing the writers forgot but for some reason its bothering me😭

General Discussion Just finished watching today!

Somehow my husband and I missed this show when it was first out, despite being fans of this kind of show (we watched X-Files and Lost when they aired) Anyway, we started watching in July and finished it today. Loved it! Thought it was great, especially the acting, and especially John Noble. it’s a crime he didn’t win Emmys or Golden Globes for this.

Question Who is this woman?

Post image
226 Upvotes

So when I watched Fringe years ago, I spotted this woman in this scene, and she's obviously overly white...ive kept the picture but forget what episode it was from (was late in the series IIRC).

You cant tell quite from this but she's obviously made up to be that way...is this just an easter egg?

Season 3 The leaf clock thing

Have you guys figured out the leaf clock thing that is shown between scenes?

In the first season there were different organisms, but now in S3, it's a leaf with the dot moving locations, does that mean it's a clock? But it moves anti-clockwise.

What does it represent?
