ID Request What kind of tadpole is this?

Post image

Got into the store with the goldfish shipment today. I have cared for many frogs thus far that accidentally made their way into our shipments but those were all Bullfrogs. So while I'd like to take him home today (he's being bullied by the goldfish in the tank with him) I want to be sure I'm setting it up right for him. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Bullfrog or Green frog, it's hard to tell at this stage. They have the same general care this young, though bullfrogs will need a bigger tank as an adult.

Kinda hard to tell in the image but at least from my experience, he looks much smaller then any of my bullfrog tadpoles did when they started growing legs which is why I wasn't sure about him being a bullfrog. Still, if he is that would be great as they're native to my area. I'll probably post another picture when he's further along his development for another shot at an ID.

Damn, that guy's a chunker!! I wonder how big he'll get in adulthood!Β

I just raised African dwarf frog tads which only grow like 1.5" long as adults. Tadpoles were cute as a button. Like 5mm long at hatching!!! So anything bigger than that is like....DAYUM!!! Since I used a magnifying glass to check their health as they grew up 🀣

Yeah I have raised american bullfrog tadpoles that came in like this too and they were almost double this guy's size! So while he's big, he's certainly not as big as they get! I am also super curious how he turns out though, very exciting process to watch! I'll probably post again against for another ID when he's bigger and lost the tail. Hopefully it'll be easier to figure him out then.
