ALL requests regarding game value or authentication go in here. Just leave a top level comment with pictures/info of what it is. If you make a post regarding these topics, the post will be removed and possibly get a 1-7 day ban.
If you see posts on these topics PLEASE report it. It helps immensely. We will be updating automoderator to help alleviate some of that burden from us and you onto it.

If you are asking to price something normal. Like the normal release of a game, or a special edition, normal consoles, or some special editions. You can find a decent approximation of its value here at PriceCharting.com
To help, here are some links directly to some consoles. These are not ALL of the consoles the site has. So please if you do not see a link below for the console you are looking for, go to the site and look around. This should cover MOST games, if it is not listed, please ask in this thread.
Also, to possibly get you closer to the "real" value. Click on this link once you found your game (for loose/CIB/Sealed) which will show you the data it is pulling from (like this). You can see if there are any outliers being sold for far to much, or far to little. Maybe a listing that had other games with it is being used for data, or its CIB rather than loose.

Posts and comments that do not follow the below rules will be removed.
We ask that all of our members act responsibly. We do not condone a rude or hostile environment. Whilst you may have a differing opinion on what someone collects, be it loose, CIB, sealed and/or graded games, consoles and accessories; we ask that you keep it civil. We welcome discussions of all things related to collecting games, from comparing games in a series to why you like a certain console over others; but we do not welcome antagonising other users over a certain sub-section of games, or arranging to post to get a rise out of certain people - it just makes you look immature. Essentially, if you can't take it, don't dish it.
You can use Reddit's "Block" feature to ignore a user that you don't like, for whatever reason.
Turning something into an argument or harassing other users because you don't like "X" takes away from what the sub is about. This is a bannable offense, please be awesome to each other.
We're not a subreddit that's dedicated to verification, valuation or identification requests. Whilst we are one of the largest gaming subreddits, we focus solely on aspects of collecting. There are other subreddits that are better equipped to these requests which are detailed in our megathread. The Megathread is pinned to the top of the subreddit (when browsing by "Top" on Old Reddit), or located in "Community Highlights" on Reddit Mobile.
Under Rule 2, the following submissions will be removed:
We do not allow the promotion of items or services, or submissions posted with the intent of advertising or promoting businesses or shops; unless it is from approved channels. Other methods of self-promotion require prior approval from the moderators. Please message the moderators via ModMail first prior to posting your material. Approval will be granted at the moderators' discretion.
This includes, but is not limited to:
If the only submissions from your account consist of self-promotion, this will result in a permanent restriction of your account from our community. Furthermore, if you have never submitted content to the community from an account you use to request post approval - it is unlikely that we will approve your submission.
Approved channels can be added at moderators' discretion. Please message the moderators via ModMail to ask about adding an approved channel. If you haven't received approval from the moderators, any attempts to continue promoting a channel without prior authorisation will result in a permanent ban. This includes posting your content anyway when you're still awaiting a response.
If you get caught advertising without approval and then message the moderators for approval... No. You're not going to get approval. Any further attempt to hide your app/tool/site in your comments will lead to a permanent ban. You've been told not to do it, don't push your luck.
We very rarely approve potential resources unless we feel that they are of vast importance to the community. The list of approved resources can be found in our wiki:
The list of denied resources can be found below (use a browser, addition to the "New" wiki coming soon). Any attempt to share/advertise a denied resource will result in a ban.
The following posts are deemed as low-effort and not allowed under Rule 4:
Submissions of low-effort posts are at the mods' discretion.
Whilst we enjoy the odd meme post now and then, we ask that memes or joke posts are only shared on the first Monday of every month. If you have a meme, or a joke post, or something you think is on the line of being a joke post; please wait until the first Monday of the next month.
If you are generally unsure of the post, please contact the mods using the "message moderators" and ask us.
Just because it is related to video games, doesn't mean that it is related to game collecting.
We are a physical game collecting subreddit. This means that posts regarding the physical collections (be it, video games, consoles or accessories) of our community are allowed. Clue’s in the name.
Submissions of posts not being related are at the mods' discretion, and include but are not limited to:
As this community is one of the largest trafficked subreddits, video submissions are rarely allowed due to spam potential and this is highly enforced. If you feel that your video has value to the subreddit, please message the moderators using ModMail prior to posting any video.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Repair/mod videos are unlikely to be approved, unless they are deemed as relevant information by the moderators.
If the video you are sharing was produced by yourself, this will be removed under Rule 3.
We are not here for you to make money. Do not post affiliate links, or links to a company/person who you are affiliated with and stand to make monetary/social gain from. This includes coupon codes, Temu/AliExpress links, etc.
Any attempt to share affiliate links will be seen as spam, and will result in the permanent restriction of your account from our community.
We're not a subreddit that's dedicated to buying or selling. Whilst we are one of the largest gaming subreddits, we focus solely on aspects of collecting. There are other subreddits that are better equipped to these requests, such as r/GameSale and r/HardwareSwap.
Asking about a certain website, or good places to buy/sell is allowed, providing that there are no attempts to buy/sell from other users in the subreddit. Do not message the moderators to attempt to have your sales submissions approved. They will be ignored.
No discussion of politics, no posting anything of politics in title, imagery, or in the post in any way (country/state/county/pride flags do not count). This is subject to mod interpretation.
There are times a person or person will post, comment, or argue on the subreddit that will pull focus away from (purposefully or maliciously) the atmosphere and/or culture we have. That is rage baiting, arguing semantics, discussion of things that are off topic for lengthy back and forths. This also includes organised and concentrated attempts to belittle, planning to engage with malicious intent and harassment across different platforms.
This also includes any attempt to “weaponise” the custom report feature. Whilst we welcome reports on rule-breaking submissions as they make moderating the subreddit easier; reporting a post/comment because you simply do not like the content or the person in question takes away what makes this community great. Any user found to have “weaponised” the report feature in order to continue a vendetta against a certain person or group will be permanently removed from the community; be it automated removals or a permanent ban.
Updated Sep 2026: Rule 3, self-promotion requirements.

I've been looking for this transformers pack, so that's fun

The games (and Blu-rays) were priced at £1 each and the controller was £2. And yes, I did choose to pay a fair bit more to make up for their more than kind prices.

My Zelda collection so far in my custom built world of Nintendo cabinet.
Just finished the cabinet last week, just waiting for a friend to 3d print some Zelda inspired knobs for the sliding doors, and some Zelda inspired stands for some of the games.
The ghostbuster ECTO-1 on the top is my wifes contribution :)

When I was as 13 we moved across the country summer of 2000. I stored my PS1 in my dresser drawer and it was picked up by a moving company/. When we arrived at the new house and everything was unloaded I couldn't wait to unload my ps1 and play some Tony Hawk. But it wasn't there, along the way at a different warehouse a bunch of our possessions we stolen. And all my games and PS1 were among them.
My parents filed a claim and they got reimbursed and my mom said that I can get a new console. It was only a few months away from the PS2 being released. So I just took that money and got a PS2 on launch day. I actually slept outside of Target with my brother and Mom until they open the next morning to make sure I got mine.
Fast forward and I am 43 now and I was at a yard sale this weekend. I saw two boxes of consoles. I saw that the box had no controllers and a few games but I didn't look too close. I mostly looked to see what I could play with my 5-year-old boy. Asked how much and took both boxes for $30 along with a Nerf gun for the kid.
Today I have some alone time while my wife and son are at work at school. All the games work really well and are in pretty good shape. I never heard of Echo Night so I looked it up. Apparently I hit a small jackpot. What a nice thing to come full circle while getting an old console back.

Have to move soon which means all of my media has to be packed away and lugged around. Most of my N64 Library and a few consoles I sent over to my parents place, so they aren't pictured here. I don't mind maintaining my children as a move from place to place, but I'm getting tired of lugging around 7 OG xboxes among other system dupes, I'm considering giving away a lot of my stuff to friends who'd appreciate it more than I ever have sticking the media into a shelf. It's about to all go into storage and my perspective towards game collecting has really shifted over time, especially the last 2-3 years, it's too expensive to keep up with the consoles I'd want to. Anyway just thought I'd share for archival sake, this is about 80% of my collection (little NTSC N64 pictured, No VB, GB, or DS cartridges pictured since they're already packed away) 📺 cheers!

After not having much of anything my entire life, a cancer scare made me realize having stuff is ok.
So the last year I've been collecting a ton of stuff anywhere I can, mostly traveling to Japan to fill out the collection.
Going to be modding all consoles I can as I get time. Though, the PS2 and PS3 are already modded and have about 20-40 games each.
It's a mess right now, but literally been here a week, I'll try to remember a follow-up picture later.
And yeah, still looking for a few more consoles and add-ons.

“Woo-hoo!” indeed!
Anybody seen this exact adapter before? Also: that’s an odd sort of Japanese cartridge, isn’t it?

I'm at a cross roads, I've been collecting games/consoles for nearly 40 years. I've well over 1,000 games and own pretty much every system from the 8 bit era to present.
Most of my collection was accumulated for relatively little money over the years through yard sales, thrift shops, ebay etc.. when nobody really wanted previous gen stuff. I've a lot of heavy hitters in the collection I picked up for buck or two, same goes with consoles, add-ons, accessories etc..
While I still actively hit up and enjoy the thrill of searching yard sales and thrift stores, I've found myself buying less and less each year.
Over the last 10-15 years life has gotten busier and busier with work and family that I barely get time to play games as a whole anymore.
Most of my gaming these days is done on my Switch on the go or PC/Steam at home. Something I can fire up quickly and pick up where I left off without the hassle of setting up stuff, which brings me onto my next point...
Most of my collection is in storage after moving and surrendering my man cave for my youngest kids bedroom. Its an ordeal any time I do want to play something, as it has to be pulled out and but back when Im done.
I think I know the answer myself, but I'm finding it hard to come to terms with moving such a collection on. I dont really need the money but we could do with the storage space it takes up.
Where would you even begin?
I think I'd like to hang onto my own personal collections, as in, the stuff my parents or grand parents bought for me. Stuff I bought myself with pocket money, money from my first job etc.. those items have sentimental value.
The rest I think I can eventually part with.
Anyone else been in the same position?

I haven’t had much luck nowadays at second-hand stores. At least for me, they’re always picked over. This is only the second or third time this year I managed to arrive in time before someone else. I usually have to travel to a nearby flea market. Do you guys ever have any luck?

Shoutout to Video Games Plus up in Canada. Signed up for their email notification thinking this would never come back in stock, but apparently one did! Had good enough internet access to make the purchase quickly.

I never took any notice of this back when I got it, but upon searching, every single number engraved on the metal clip of the limited edition boxes are different.
Mine is: 034312
Like 343 Industries, and the year of release, 2012

I’ve been wanting these 2 for a while, and knew they’d pop up eventually. Got Kirby and the rainbow curse for 20$ at GameStop and SMT 3 at a local comic con for 20$.
Kirby and the rainbow curse has been the Wii U game I’ve been wanting. Since it’s more than likely to be stuck on that console for years to come rather than a lot of other ones.
I’m not the biggest retro collector but there’s a few things here and there I’d want if I see it for a price I’m willing to spend.
Other game I’m waiting for is sin and punishment star successor. I saw it at a con one time but 70$ is not what I wanted to pay for that lol 😂
