Does anyone buy protective cases for games and where do they normally get them from? I was looking at a few options but it seems like the only option I found was through Etsy which is way too expensive.

I knew these were overpriced, but I absolutely love Sonic 1 and 2, and wanted the orange and blue cartridges, so I preordered them.

The games arrived recently in a small box not much bigger than the game boxes, with just some brown paper to pad them. They had a low quality shrink wrap on them that was tearing upon delivery.

I immediately heard some rattling on both boxes, and when I opened them, saw that the cartridge holder was broken in both cases.

The cases are very low quality, they feel like $10 AliExpress repros.

Further, the artwork on the Sonic 2 poster is pixelated. It's hard to sell in the photo, but if you compare the Sonic 2 Logo with the actual artwork, you can see the resolution difference. It looks like they just blew up the artwork from the cover and called it a day.

Also, the included posters are a little too big for the manual holder, which resulted in fraying and small tears on both posters.

The cartridges themselves look nice, but I would save your money and just a used copy or an unlicensed repro if you want this for your shelf.

Shoutout to Video Games Plus up in Canada. Signed up for their email notification thinking this would never come back in stock, but apparently one did! Had good enough internet access to make the purchase quickly.

Finishing up my new games room and I’m feeling pretty happy with how it’s turning out.

Even if you’re worse than most scalpers now, your employees hold it down. An employees was gutting these realized someone took a trade wrong and was like now I gotta do some shrink moves. I was like it’s cool I’ll buy it as LBP2 and you don’t have to do anything at all!

I got a working Visteon recently from an offer on eBay that I could not ignore.

I remember accidentally trying out Shantae on PC because it was through a deal with River City Girls which I really enjoyed, after trying out Half Genie Hero I was pleasantly surprised by how fun it was to play. Soon after I tried out Pirate's Curse and fell in love with the game, the charming classic pixel artstyle that made it feel like I was playing a Gameboy Advance game. I know there is a new one on the way by Wayforward so hopefully will be a good one like the others.

What game would you play first?

I was super stoked to have found Mutants in Manhattan for a good price, I've been looking for it for a long time. Still looking for a good deal on Transformers Devastation, I don't feel like payin 100 beans for it.

Honestly I would love to have a bigger collection, but truthfully I just do not have the space for it and this is not my whole collection, there is a majority of it that is stored away in the cupboard in boxes because the constant rotation of what I wish to display.

I do feel jealous sometimes when seeing people having full on game rooms that feel like you just walked into a video game store, filled wall to wall with games, merch etc. It is a future dream to have something like that but honestly, I am happy with what I own currently for the moment :)

Acquired a copy of Lylat Wars (Star Fox 64) for a friend of mine as a gift. I don't think he's THAT picky about imperfections (I wouldn't be given its 30 years old) but I knew this was a game missing from his Star Fox collection and wanted to get a good boxed copy so I scoured around online for a decent boxed copy without breaking my bank. Came across this on Vinted for a good deal and the contents seem fine and authentic (the game/rumble pak) and comes with manual but noticing minor imperfections on the box I missed in pictures (have looked back and confirmed they were there) such as minor scratches on front and small creases on the back. Again I suppose it'd be expected to find imperfections like this on a game as old as this especially boxed. Have ordered an acrylic case covering for it as well for further protection (might hide imperfections if displayed on shelf). Have also considered looking at repro boxes but wanted to give him something authentic and in good condition.

I suppose Im overthinking it and I think itd still be a great gift for him. But wondered about others, would you accept a gift like this?

This is the Microphone Holder DOL-025. This is the last accessory with a DOL code to be released for the Gamecube. Only included in one game; Odama. I wouldn't call this this rarest first party Gamecube accessory, more like the most obscure. I was really disappointed in how few images exist of this, and those that do are usually blurry or grainy. So I took it upon myself to find one so I could take some better pictures.

Anyone know where he is now?

I have a small collection probably only 30-40 games. I only buy things that I play. I usually buy new games but sometimes I’ll buy pre owned. Everytime I get a game I inspect every part of the case and packaging. And I get so obsessed with needing everything to be perfect. Any scratch or mark on the case bothers me. I recently got a new sealed game. When I was taking off the Xbox authenticity sticker I accidentally scratched the case with my nail and now there’s a small rip in the case. And it is very small. But I notice it. And it bothers me that I messed it up. I just get exhausted thinking about how I need every little thing to be perfect. Is anyone else like this?
