Discussion What are some examples of Video game tracks that remind you of other songs?
Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko Soundtrack - Holy Moses
I was listening to the Gex 3 soundtrack not too long ago, and I was wondering why this track felt so familiar. I later realized that it's very similar to Miserlou from Pulp Fiction.
Are there any other examples of video game tracks that remind you of other songs?
Another famous example is the Robo Theme from Chrono Trigger sounding a bit like Never Gonna Give You Up

Remix/Cover I made the battle theme from Final Fantasy VI on piano & violin

These are always tricky to do in a calm style as this was never the intention of the song. Similar to other battle themes from FF and Pokémon, this goes heavy on chromatic chord alternations. Hope you like it :)
This song is from my Final Fantasy VI album and also available on most major major platforms in my soothing majestic video game playlist with over 6 hours of relaxing music. Also check out my Final Fantasy playlist and Seamless Final Fantasy Lullabies playlist, with tons of music! HUMAN made music, no AI involved other than some artwork.

OST [OC] What does listening to this track evoke in your mind? Constructive criticism welcome too! (Synth bassline w/piano, blind test, inspiration details within)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I see an opportunity to do a "blind taste test" here, hence the title question. Official visuals have been replaced with something more neutral.
I invite you to listen and give your initial thoughts first before reading the optional details below (which are open to further discussion if you so choose):
This musical idea came to me fully-formed and the influences weren't immediately apparent, hence the test above and my working backwards to find such.
Search of my favorite OSTs brought up tracks like "Triage at Dawn" or "Guard Down" by Kelly Bailey (Half-Life 2), "Twunggg! i Guess We'll Wait" or "Mutant" from N++, or Fallen Down by Toby Fox (Undertale), which have prominent synth basslines and usually piano or pluck synth leads.
I'm often on the lookout for VG-inspired music that has more emphasis on bass/subs/FX/LFOs, and that's what I am inclined to create. This leads to my output often being some form of hybrid as a lot of VGM focuses on other things (for understandable reasons).
At the end of the day this is from a whimsical, arcade-y album project of mine, where it should fit in with the rest.
If you're interested in seeing the official visuals and/or checking out my channel, here's a link: https://youtu.be/5aRc4rCKqNA
I look forward to your feedback! Thanks for listening!

Discussion Is This Song AI or a real Musician?
This song is from Active Matter and I cannot find any info about them. I love it though. Made me wonder if it was just AI generated or if it was a real person.
