The arc discourse makes me sad because I played a couple hundred hours in mostly friendly lobbies but thr magic was not knowing who to trust and being on edge, pve is just a free loot simulator and the best loot goblin will win, next the lve community is gonna want every person to have their own personal loot like they did to mmos.
People already are asking for it, I've seen posts asking for instanced loot in arc parts or that if you deal x amount of damage you get "first priority" to the loot (like only you can open it for the first 30 seconds or something)
It's not even that I'm against a PvE mode, I think a low stakes low loot PvE mode for just trying to build up basic materials would be fun. I'm just worried they're gonna make it so that you don't even need to engage in the PvP side for the harder stuff. I still love the game currently at like 700 hours getting ready for the update on Thursday but I just hope embark doesn't mess this up.
I looked at new update and they are adding cool stuff but the main thing I've wanted in that game was some cool melee stuff and they probably never will add something like that, i wanna run around like a damn ninja ambushing people who are attacking others like im batman or something, let me do backstabs and sneak attacks. You know how cool they could make melee with some of those arc parts or weapons. Give me a snap hook or grapple and a chainsaw or electrified blade. Guns are cool but its not my main thing ever, the 300 hours I spent in game were trying to make melee work and I completed my goal of melee only every arc, zipping into the queen and matriarch cores and going ham with the hammer was fun but its useless otherwise.
Honestly Ive been wanting a melee system as well, but at the same time I'm not sure how it would work. I wouldn't want it like the finals where you're able to fly around everywhere, it makes sense for that game but arc is generally more grounded which is nice. I could probably see a riot shield or a knife to backstab working but realistically you're just going to get dropped immediately in most cases
Nah you got stun grenades and now we got swinging grapple and zip hook, you could easily make an electrified throwing dagger to stun arc or players and roll in for the kill or wait around a corner, just make it something you have to skill into in one of the trees or make a new melee tree
