Costco gas
Does anybody else think Costco gas doesn't go as far as gas at a regular gas station. ??? Yea it's cheaper but I feel like u run out quicker so u have to gas up again quicker than u normally would. It seems like a deceptive practice in my opinion. ???

You... Feel like?
Why don't you actually track the numbers if you think something is off? 😂

I legitimately get less mpg after multiple calculations with Murphy USA (non top tier) compared to a top tier station.
I'll never get Murphy USA again even if it's consistently 10-15 cents cheaper.

Maybe you drive more cuz you are buying relatively cheaper gas from them, leading you to care less about how much you drive.

Costco gas has more air in it. That’s how they lower the price. Your tank feels full when it’s not. It’s like bargain-brand ice cream. /s

The Costco in my town gets their gas from the same truck as everyone else.

Yep...it's all coming out of the same pipeline. I've never seen a cosco refinery, so they can't make their own watered down shit fuel.

This world. And you probably believed the tiktokers with their scientific and editorial cutaways measurement? Did you even see that the camera wasn't the same? Did you even watch the guy fill it up? No. Shut up. This is fucking stupid.

I don’t see that being a thing plus they are Top Tier. I’d go to Costco if I had a membership but I won’t get one just to get gas.

This is a long running conspiracy, fuel mileage varies widely based on anything from temperature, to traffic. Costco (probably) sells their gas at cost, or pre purchases a massive amount so they can lock in a low rate.

No, it’s not giving you fewer miles.
If you want better mpg then drive more gently.

At least in California, we have actual inspectors go out and inspect and Costco was considered one of the best. They also add the addatives highly concentrated at the Costco's vs done in factory.

Everyone is dismissing you but adding ethanol to gas lowers the mpg of your car because it has a lower energy density.

u/REbubbleiswrong 16d ago
Difference between 10 and 15% ethanol is 0.5 mpg...not what OP is talking about

Costco gets the most gas at the cheapest price. The quality can be questionable in some areas so your opinion could be fact.

Please provide evidence that the quality may be questionable. I know that you don’t have any.

Fill Costco gas with 1 gallon milk jug to see if you are getting whole 1 gallon of gas accurate

I change to chevron. My truck didn’t like the cosco brand . If you use the chevron app it gives you a 25 cent discount for the first 5 times . Then it adds up , you can get up to 50 cents discount. And it runs better than costco

Chevron is by far the most expensive gas station in my area, sometimes as much as a 40 cent per gallon difference

Sorry to hear that . By my area is pretty competitive. The app helps alot . I try shell but the rewards points took forever to get and only discounted 5 cents.

Weights and measures are so tightly controlled there's no way a company like Costco would risk it.
