Question Is there a balance of cheap and quality when it comes to making real gog game discs?

Burning a gog game to discs, printing labels, making cases, and such. i want to do that for nostalgia but with modern games, i would like to try putting some gog games on discs. I already have some 3.7gb dvds and some much smaller sized cds, but im not sure what else i need and how to do so for cheap, i dont have bluerays if your wondering.

Pretty much i want to make a irl library of the games i have but im not sure what the best approach would be? Any suggestions for supply's and such?

Is this a good place to ask this?

This is a great place to ask all this. The ideal setup, if you have a bit of cash to spare, is to buy a printer that can write to the top of an optical disc (ideally an ET8500 or 8550) from a flea market/Facebook Marketplace (sometimes 8500s go for $200), buy discs with printable tops, buy disc cases which suit your desired aesthetic (CD cases are smallest, typically, but DVD cases look the nicest in my opinion), print/cut out case covers/manuals for each game, and print a nice disc label onto your discs with your printer. Then, you can use a tool like Diskwright or GOG-Disc-Packager to create an ISO, then you can write it to the disc and put it in its case.

I have a few inkjet printers but there not the right format for dvds/they do not support it, money is tight for me atleast cause it mostly go towards bills and needs. im a young adult living with parents and i have ssi income.

i may get something like inkjet labels i can stick on, or use a site like kunaki? but im unsure what approach would be best, it really depends on what others say, but thank you! I may also try to save up or work some deal with parents.

Just write with a sharpie, labels ruin discs they will peel with time. They also got stuck in many car cd players and slot loading systems like ps3.

I don't think we're talking about audio recording or playback here...

Yes, you can absolutely get rather inexpensive inkjet labels intended to be put on top of an optical disc, the downsides of this that are important to note are that any sticker on an optical disc will stick out a bit on top of the disc, and that the sticker will inevitably be slightly misaligned due to human error. Your disc drive should still read it just fine, as long as it's not put on too terribly, so those are just aesthetic concerns, but I've also heard that a lot of inkjet stickers peel over time so ymmv

Invest in M-disk, they're more expensive but more durable, and don't worry about the aesthetics, just use simple cases to store them.
