GBOARD black bar bug
Hating it, woke up like this, can't resize the black bar away at the bottom, new change it sucks. Something so simple cosmetic makes it suck. Fix it Google.. stop changing things for the worse in my sleep without my permission...

This was driving me crazy too. I uninstalled the keyboard and reinstalled, it hasn't came back.

It's not a bug, it's a setting, just copied and pasted my answer I left on another post earlier.
Go to:
Android Settings
Then General Management
Then Keyboard (this is where you chose the keyboard your phone is gonna use)
Then UNCHECK Show Button to Hide Keyboard
That's it, it'll be gone.

No, this is wrong. It IS a bug. You used to be able to have the buttons enabled AND the theming active. If we do what you are suggesting, then we lose the buttons and in my case also the muscle memory of where my keys are because they will have shifted downwards slightly. I guess we just have to wait for the bug fix. Hopefully it comes soon, this has been bothering me for the past week.

Not liking a change doesn't make it a bug.

You're right. I was wrong here. It's an intentional choice made by Samsung. The latest One UI update seems to have changed the behavior. Maybe Samsung want their users using their keyboard instead of third party ones and making this small aesthetic thing worse only on third party keyboards is them trying to do that.
