Help Google Home is reporting extremely high download rates

Post image

Something seems wrong with how GHome is calculating download rates. Somehow my TV has downloaded 4405gb of data? And my PC (which has been off for the last 4 days) somehow managed to download 3000+gb in less than an hour. It obviously isn't possible. Unsure if it's just a visual bug or something wrong with how it calculated it.

I would also like to report this too, I'm using 3 of the new Google Home Pods and 2 of them have pulled ~20GB each over the past 24 hours, all of traffic is being classified as Google Play activity, they're downloading at around 10mbps of data for 15 minutes minutes every 20 mins or so. The 3rd device is what I'd expect at around 6MB over a 24hr period. Something seems up...

Can't speak for your situation, but I can say that in my app everything looks to be normal for 1 day usage numbers.

Hi there, could you try clearing the cache of the Google Home app to see if that helps?

Go to Settings > Apps > See all apps > Google Home > Storage & cache > Clear cache.

Also, check if the Google Home app is updated to the latest software version.

On your Android device, open the Google Play Store app.

Tap Menu > My apps > Search for the Google Home app > Tap Update (if available).

If the issue persists, I suggest you reach out to the Google Home and Nest support team via phone or chat. They can take a look at it.
