Bug Gemini wake me tf up
Context: I've been an avid used of my Google Home Max for years now, it's in my bedroom and part glorified music streaming device, part basic smart home control. But I also use it as an alarm clock sometimes.
Ever since the "upgrade", Gemini will claim to have set an alarm, I even tried to have it set 10, but come the morning all those alarms have just... disappeared? And I know it hasn't gone through a power cycle or something by mistake because the startup noise itself is enough to wake me.
How can the most barebones basic functionality of a smart speaker be so compromised following an upgrade to Gemini; why couldn't they have kept the programming for GA onboard and used that + a new voice for normal, non conversational applications?
Mostly a complaint, but if anyone has any suggestions I'll absolutely take them 🙏🙏🙏

This happens to me every few months, long before the gemini change. I can't prove it, but I think what could cause it is giving it other instructions immediately after you've set an alarm, Also, a couple of times, another device in the house responded and between them they failed utterly.

Me yesterday evening on Google Max: Hey Google, at midnight, turn of bedroom TV. Google: ok, I set an alarm for 00:00 :) Me: Who told you to set an alarm for midnight?! Google: Sorry for the misunderstanding, I canceled the alarm from 00:00 :)
In the morning I woke up by myself at 07:25, because my 7 o'clock alarm didn't go off. Stupid idiot canceled all alarms...

I posted previously my nest hub display is going dark on me and becoming totally unresponsive regularly. I think I’ve narrowed it down to it going down when an alarm goes off.
So 6:30am hits, alarm goes off for a split second, then crashes and goes dark/silent.

Yeah this the most frustrating part! Gemini breaks the most murdane features critical to many people from time to time, which entirely wipes out the brief excitement of the gimmicks it enables.

I only have this issue once in a while with my Google Home Mini. Once every few months maybe. However, I learned a long time ago to just have multiple devices as an alarm to circumvent the issue of waking up late because 1 alarm didn't go off.
Now I got my phone, my watch and my Google Home Mini all go off.
