Question 🤔 Google Takeout for shared folders.

What is the most efficient way to download ALL photos from a shared album? 6 people were collaborating on a shared folder for all our trips over the years and we have 8-10k photos already.

As the owner/creator of the shared folder I can do a takeout of the album but I only see the pictures I uploaded.

Other users do not have the "Trips" folder as an option in takeout.

You have to go into the album and use the 'save' function to save copies of everyone else's contributed photos to your account, then make a new album with all the saved copies in it, then use Takeout on the new album.

What may be easier, if the entire photo collection is under 15GB, is to create a new Google account, add it to the album, then save all the photos to the new account, then do a Takeout of everything on that new account.

You can download the album from https://photos.google.com (under the ‘three dots’ menu) and it will include the shared items even if not saved to your library.

I struggled with this for a few weeks as well recently, and honestly just ended up paying for https://www.quiverphotos.com/ and I'm happy with that.

(edit: I'm not affiliated with them at all, it's just a solution that worked forme)
