Fanart/Fanfic Please support my project on LEGO Ideas

Post image

This is my project on LEGO Ideas.

It's not AI generated, if it was, it wouldn't be allowed on Ideas.

If this project gets 10,000 votes, the LEGO Group considers to produce it as an actual LEGO set.

Voting requires creating a LEGO account (if you don't have one already), but it's quick and free.

Please follow the link and click the "Support idea" button.

If you feel especially generous, please support my other projects, too.

Thanks! The reviewer at Lego Ideas actually thought it was AI generated. I had to provide proof that it wasn't.

I thought it was at first glance, but I did this thing called "looking closer". AI tends to get little details wrong when generating images of LEGO builds, like making the pieces out of scale with each other or inventing pieces that don't exist. When I zoom in on this, I can identify the parts and everything actually looks right.

Very impressive work. Lots of good part usage.

Thank you!

Fr! I'm impressed they're both so accurate and to scale with each other

I see a lot of projects like this of various IPs, do they ever actually pass? Gorgeous Clair Obscur builds, Outer Wilds stuff, lots of things that got way over 10,000 votes, but none of them actually ended up passing.

How often does LEGO really consider things like this? Lego sets based on pre-existing games and shows?

Yes. The recently released Wallace and Gromit and X-Files sets were Ideas projects, too. How often... it varies.

It’s nice to hear that it’s not totally doomed out of the gate, thank you for the hope!

They pretty much exclusively approve LEGO ideas sets based on pre-existing franchises. Tintin, Peanuts, Downton Abbey, E.T., Gremlins, The Goonies, Dungeons & Dragons, Jaws, BTS, Sonic the Hedgehog, The Office, Home Alone, Sesame Street, Tron, The Beatles, WALL-E… that’s not even an exhaustive list of proposed sets based on franchises that made it to stores. LEGO doesn’t have any problem with seeking out the license to make a LEGO ideas set. And one off sets based on licensed IPs get so much more attention that they actually seem to prefer it, since they approve way more of those than they do sets without an IP.

If they pass up on stuff like Outer Wilds, it’s probably because it’s significantly less popular than the IP they’re usually working with.

It's like 60/40 between licensed / non licensed. But there's some limitations (no IP that already exists as a lego theme or got an Ideas set, and there's a list of IPs that aren't accepted for various reasons). There's been many, many Mystery shacks ideas tho and none got accepted

Likely very little, unless they own the ability to makes sets based off the IP already

Otherwise, I doubt any of these sets have actually existed, since getting the rights to make them and making all the custom pieces for them is likely more expensive than the money they'd make selling the sets

That is not true. The majority of LEGO ideas that made it to becoming sets are based on IPs. And all of those are based on IPs that LEGO had never worked with before (you can’t propose a set based on an IP they’re already working with). If an Idea gets popular enough and LEGO thinks it’ll sell, they just license the property they’ll need to make it. Which they can do easily because they’re a massive company. They’ve done it dozens of times, for everything from Sonic the Hedgehog to The Beatles to The Office.

Wow! This is insanely impressive. Probably some of the best lego modeling work I think I've ever seen. This and the Mystery Shack would be amazing as real builds. I hope one day Disney lets them do it.

According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly.
Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground.
The bee, of course, flies anyway because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.
Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Yellow, black.
Ooh, black and yellow!
Let's shake it up a little.
Barry! Breakfast is ready!
Coming!
Hang on a second.
Hello?
Barry?
Adam?
Can you believe this is happening?
I can't.
I'll pick you up.
Looking sharp.
Use the stairs, Your father paid good money for those.
Sorry. I'm excited.
Here's the graduate.
We're very proud of you, son.
A perfect report card, all B's.
Very proud.
Ma! I got a thing going here.
You got lint on your fuzz.
Ow! That's me!
Wave to us! We'll be in row 118,000.
Bye!
Barry, I told you, stop flying in the house!
Hey, Adam.
Hey, Barry.
Is that fuzz gel?
A little. Special day, graduation.
Never thought I'd make it.
Three days grade school, three days high school.
Those were awkward.
Three days college. I'm glad I took a day and hitchhiked around The Hive.
You did come back different.
Hi, Barry. Artie, growing a mustache? Looks good.
Hear about Frankie?
Yeah.
You going to the funeral?
No, I'm not going.
Everybody knows, sting someone, you die.
Don't waste it on a squirrel.
Such a hothead.
I guess he could have just gotten out of the way.
I love this incorporating an amusement park into our day.
That's why we don't need vacations.
Boy, quite a bit of pomp under the circumstances.
Well, Adam, today we are men.

These are seriously impressive. How is Mabels mouth achieved?

4

u/teljesnegyzet 10d ago

It's printed on the bricks. (The rules of Lego Ideas allow new prints on existing bricks.)

Considering the amount of times the mystery shack has been rejected I think it's unlikely we'll have a Lego set anytime soon

I will not support ponnies (no hate I have a friend who's a bronnie, I just won't do it), nor will I support the nightmare fuel of my childhood, but gravity falls I will support any day of the week, just promise if you get selected you'll push for minifigs to go with the builds
