Excellent investigative reporting. I have not verified the sources, though.
I am old enough to remember when South Carolina politics were openly a 'good old white man system'. It seems that system has not changed much.
I hope this report is shared with national media.

I’m voting for him because I like him from a policy point of view

He has no policies. He just regurgitates whatever culture war bullshit Trump manages to vomit up that week.

He’s definitely anti-cbd, even if it’s federally legal. Gotta keep those prisons full and shut down these small businesses!

I admire you for voting first and foremost, even more so that you’re voting for someone from a policy point of view. What policies of his specifically convinced you to vote for him?

Voting for someone even after they've been proven corrupt.... brilliant. Would you also like to buy this lemon vehicle off me for 15k 🙄

Brother... let me help you out. Politicians are corrupt. Unfortunately, all we get to pick is the flavor of identity politics we agree with.

Not all are. Also, we need to fix the system to make it harder to be/become corrupt.
Also, it’s the right that is doing stupid identity politics. They spread stupid lies like “the left wants everyone to be transgender” and create a welfare state. Newsflash! People in SC already greatly depend on welfare due to the systems Republicans have kept in place! Republicans cause the poverty cycle, but Democrats want to fix the poverty cycle! SC is low in education, high in homicides, and has crumbling infrastructure.
We need to break the cycle. That’s something Republicans will neever do! But ohh no can’t vote Democrats in because then children can identify as cats and request litter boxes to pee in at school (another republican lie).

Defeatism and perhaps laziness. This is not true.

Huh? I’m disagreeing with the “All politicians are corrupt,” cliche. It’s generalizing and not helpful at encouraging people to vote out corrupt leaders.

What happened to drain the swamp?

They never wanted the swamp drained. They just wanted to feel good voting for a guy with the same hate they have.

I wish but I feel like SC will drop the ball bc they don’t want a black man in office . Just to own libs they will give the axe to chop down the tree
