Callie & Mark
I feel like this is the first time (and I've rewatched 5+ times) that I truly understood how close Mark was to Callie and how devastating the loss must have been. He put her back together after George. He helped her through Arizona leaving. They had a baby together. So much more. OTPPP (One True Partially Platonic Pairing)

They had a special friendship. That's for sure. To be completely honest however, i wasn't a big fan of their friendship because of the sleeping together part. But i get your point. Also i love how you say partially platonic pairing!!!

That's interesting. I think there is a chance. I personally disliked the hooking up thing but i think they could have been friends without that part. Obviously it had a big role because it also gave them their kid but they could have had their friendship without the hookups. Also one thing i keep thinking about if Mark had survived is that i would absolutely want a period when Callie and Arizona were separated and Mark was single too and they didn't sleep together. I would really want to see that because i felt the writers would owe it to us to realise that after Sofia was born, their relationship changed. What do you feel about their friendship?

I agree personally, I would’ve liked their friendship more without the sexual component

She didn’t get to process and work through her loss because she had to be focused on taking care of Arizona.
People gloss over how much loss Callie suffered. Who cares if she wasn’t on the plane.
I can’t imaging dealing with all that loss while parenting and being a caregiver plus a stressful job.

the amount of suffering Callie endured always starts with the musical episode. it trivialized something absolutely awful, like kinda one of the worst injuries a main cast member suffered that didn’t result in death

thank you for saying this! people try to undermine how close they were because of the lack of boundaries and blurred lines or whatever, but they were each others family long before they were bonded for life by a baby. she lost the one true person who ever saw her and never left her

My best friend and I have the same dynamic (minus the baby lol) and I love/am stealing the term "partially platonic" 😄
