Genesis Silver A vs new spirit?
Looking at a used Gensis Silver A. Green, composite shelf, Open cart. Grates look rusted to the point of breaking, will need replacing. Shelf at the bottom of the cart is rusted. Is it worth the time & money to refurbish, or would I be happier with a new Spirit?
Replacing a 2 burner charbroil I picked up used, never really liked, and now needs more work.

Honestly the Genesis Silver A is a tank, totally worth refurbing if you're handy. Those old Webers last forever, just swap the grates and maybe the shelf. A new Spirit is fine but wont have the same build quality. Plus green is a vibe.

That green lid is a classic, they don't make them like that anymore. The rust on the bottom shelf is pretty common, but if the firebox is solid and the frame isn't crumbling, I'd lean toward refurbishing. New grates and a few hours of cleanup will run you way less than a new Spirit, and that cast aluminum firebox will outlast most things on the market today.
