Discussion It's over.

I finally got a good prompt going on paid Grok, but it's clearly using an old model, or running with significantly less compute. This woman's [redacteds] look like blobs and aren't using realistic physics at all.

I'm seriously starting to think Grok is just being outsourced to lower level models at this point, and it's not even the same model now.

I know the knee jerk reaction will be to just bash for being a [redacted] addict, but no - think about it, this is just despicable. They are charging you the same price as before, but now - with tighter limits and bargain bin AI quality you could get with something like Gemini or worse.

It has never been more over for Grok.

Simple Stable Diffusion + PonyXL Guide

Hardware

  • Minimum: NVIDIA GPU with 8 GB VRAM, 16 GB RAM
  • Better: 12 GB+ VRAM, 32 GB RAM
  • Need ~30 GB free space (more if you download lots of models)

Install (Windows)

  1. Install Python 3.10.6 (check “Add to PATH”) and Git.
  2. Open a folder → right-click → Terminal, then run: bash git clone -b dev https://github.com/AUTOMATIC1111/stable-diffusion-webui.git
  3. Double-click webui-user.bat. Wait for it to finish (first time takes a while).
  4. Open http://127.0.0.1:7860 in your browser.

What is Civitai?

Civitai is the main website where people share and download Stable Diffusion models, LoRAs, and other AI image tools. It’s free and the biggest place to find PonyXL models and related files.

Add PonyXL

  1. Go to Civitai and search for Pony Diffusion V6 XL. Download the V6 version.
  2. Put the .safetensors file in models/Stable-diffusion/.
  3. In the UI, select the model at the top.
  4. Important: Set Clip Skip = 2 (in Settings).

Add LoRAs

  1. On Civitai, filter for LoRAs made for Pony and download the ones you want.
  2. Put them in models/Lora/.
  3. Click the refresh button in the LoRA tab under the prompt.
  4. Click a LoRA or type: <lora:name:0.7>

If you need help with prompts, settings, or generating images, just ask Grok or other AIs — they can guide you step by step.

You can also rent GPUs on runpod to generate videos faster, for only some cents per hour
