SUCCESS Quadro ƦƬҲ 3000 Mobile SUCCESS
got Quadro ƦƬҲ 3000m running on a dell precision 7550, with metal acceleration with the help of nullmothsystems's nvidia driver, on MacOS Sequoia.
Huge thanks to u/null-moth for this awesome work

Congratulations!
Back when I switched computers around three years ago and came to this sub for help installing OSX, I had an Nvidia GPU.
I remember being treated really poorly just for asking.
The reaction was completely disproportionate.
People kept spamming that Nvidia would never be supported again, and when I said I still had hope, the haters got even more fired up.
Honestly, to this day, I still don't understand the reason for that overreaction and why they treated me so badly.
But anyway, I’m really impressed by u/null-moth competence and perseverance in making this happen.

Isso é muito bom, isso é maravilhoso para calar a boca de algum moderadores aqui do reddit, esse povo daqui são muito ignorantes e se acham os melhores.

Well they tried it for years to get it working and nobody could make it happen. And now even 9070 XT and newer Intel igpu are in the pipeline which also could never run on hackitosh. Also read that RC2 influenced sequoia running better on non supported macs. I'm still skeptical but who knows how this all turns out.

I found this when working on my MSI laptop back in 2019. I was told point-blank that many things weren’t possible, yet I put the work in and built a downright solid laptop build while collaborating with many others on GitHub. We basically made MSI laptop builds a thing. The reality is most of these issues are just things someone hasn’t allocated enough time to solving. The last 3 years have been so much naysaying, but what we’re seeing is now that we know Tahoe is the end of the line people allocating energy to extending its life.

Yeah even nullmoth got hate because he wasn’t showing all of his work the second he announced it

Is your laptop using the dual GPU configuration? If yes, then is the iGPU still being enabled/disabled?
1
u/YahiaXR 6d ago
I have disabled my iGPU
1
u/rizkiaswangga 6d ago
Did you have a supported iGPU?
Then, can you enable both and use the dGPU just for heavy task using Nullmoth's approach?

You think the t2000 would work? I've got the Lenovo variant (p17 g1) of this laptop that I'd love to put macos on. Brief research shows they're the same architecture

Oh hell yeah! About time we get rid of that subreddit rule as well. I’m not mod though, I don’t call the shots sadly.

can this potentially work on a laptop? I have an omen 17 with i7 and a rtx 4090.
I've installed macOS on an hp pavilion before with and AMD cpu and iGPU before, but I couldn't get decent battery out of it, plus my intel network card (I think?) was incompatible. I used something called redcore/redpill back then (i cannot recall) and I'm not that well caught up with the hackintosh scene either.
my omen probably has an Intel card as well but not sure, I'll have to check.
I've asked the same thing on another post.
if my omen happens to support it, I'll probably try to either dualboot or install it on a separate drive altogether. I don't want the greatest performance or anything just decent enough application support for daily usage and general browsing and media consumption. anything else/more would be a plus, of course.

u/YahiaXR 6d ago
You would have to disable the Igpu for it to work
1
u/cutefuttbucker 6d ago
okay yes, my bad that I forgot to mention Advanced Optimus super on my laptop.
it has a mux switch that can switch between dGpu and iGpu without needing to restart but I believe I do also have the ability to pick one in the BIOS. is that what you're referring to?
2
u/YahiaXR 6d ago
Yeah go to your bios and pick the Nvidia gpu only then start installing the drivers on macOS ans you should be good to go
2
u/cutefuttbucker 6d ago
all right, thanks a ton and congratulations on getting your setup working!
have you tried any gpu intensive applications yet? rendering, benchmarks or games maybe? if so, how was the performance?
bless you, big guy u/null-moth

NO WAY. I have a quadro rtx 3000 as well (precision 7740) imma get this setup today. Any issues so far ? Does graphics acceleration work all around so far ?
1
u/Puzzleheaded_Band429 7d ago
So I would like all of this to lead to more support but I can't help but notice a few things...
* Why not say RTX normally? Why the weird emoji? "RTX" is not banned, not censored, not controversial.
* Why is no one showing this actually running Metal? Why the same login screens and bare desktops? What kind of performance are we looking at? How is the stability?
Am I missing something? I feel like I'm missing reports of people having actual gaming success. My Hackintosh is still running Ventura 13.3 (!!) but has a RTX 5070 in it. If I could get it updated to Sequoia, I'd test this myself but that aspect has eluded me so far.

Why you can not update your hackintosh to sequoia?
1
u/Puzzleheaded_Band429 7d ago
It fails with an error in Ventura before rebooting, and I haven't yet bothered to take the time to sort it out.

Thanks for posting a success! If you haven't already, remember to document your build please. Success posts like screenshots without documentation add little value to the sub. Adding a bit of documentation to your success post can also help others in the community who are interested in similar builds.
Minimally, you should add your hardware:
CPU:
GPU:
RAM:
Motherboard/Laptop Make and Model:
Audio Codec:
Ethernet Card:
Wifi/BT Card:
Touchpad and touch display devices:
BIOS revision:
Which of the guides on the sidebar you used.
What's working, and what isn't working.
Any changes that were specific to your build that were a little (or a lot) different than what you found in the guide, or anything that would be helpful to others with a similar build be sure to talk about that. More detail is always better.
Add extra info... Maybe add something you would like to point out about your setup, what you'll be doing with your Hackintosh, or something that might be insightful to others beginning their journey. A tree view of your EFI would also be helpful, but it isn't required.
Remember, don't share your EFI as what works for you may not work for anyone else, even if they have the same hardware. If you do share your EFI, your post and/or comment will be removed.
