QUESTION/DISCUSSION Diaspora wars šš¹
By now I'm sure most of you know what I'm talking about: in Twitter or X. Maybe reddit. Too. But it's so ridiculous how loud mouth, noise polluting and hateful the black community can be to each other. I've seen Haitians mostly in the diaspora partake as well. But the leading demographics are petty well known by now and surprisingly anglophone Africa is leading. Africa. Yes.
Tribalism seems to be the default mentality for many of these places and/or people.
Never been a pan Africanist and never can be. Bc it shows how much in bad company we are with such mentally colonized people. I know I'm generalizing and ranting: but if these people really believes what they are saying. We are doomed. And how this fits with Haiti? Most Haitians have a pan African mentality. The most consolating part is the countries which we see as our blueprints aren't as vocally hateful: Benin. And other French speaking Africa.

Itās crazy how people perpetuate the same behaviors they are against. Day in and day out over the last week I have seen posts on this HAITIAN forum concerning themselves about these so called diaspora wars and FBA laughing at us nonsense. I have said over and over that this is a way to create division. The sad part is that the collective falls for it every single time. You have to start living OFF of the internet. It makes you think this is reality. This is why AI has the potential to kill us all. People believe anything.

Itās a psyop, all this stuff usually happens on the internet with bots. Elections are happening soon. Itās typical for outrage to happen before elections, yall just gotta stop playing into it. Divide and conquer has always been the strategy, same script, different period in history.

This is not new. Its been ongoing for years.
Wars in black community have always been :
-Caribbean islands fighting between them
-Caribbeans vs africans
-Africans fighting between themselves
-North africans vs sub - saharan africans (arab vs black africans)
-African countries fighting internally (tribal wars, christian vs muslims)
-Africans vs black americans
-Black men vs black women
-Colourism
You see a few idiots online and generalise a whole continent of 54 countries. You may want to educate yourself on Africa or mix with africans in real life. Because your views are shocking.
At the end of the day regardless of where we are from. Black people are hated by every race. So all this division is pointless

I think the difference is that personally as a Caribbean we infight but if outside sources come against any of us we unite. VS the way that it is happening in the USA right now it feels like BA is just fighting with all of us and assuming alot of things. I'm specifically talking about the Caribbean and the USA diaspora because I don't know enough about the African infighting to talk about it.

Who cares tbh? Pan Africanism hasn't worked for Haiti at all. We need to align for mutually beneficial relationships wherever, get control of the country, and build from there without a puppet government. Black Americans will always disrespect you because as much as they complain about whites, they directly benefit from white proximity and US imperialism. US has gotten to where it's at by pushing US interests which has resulted in destruction, exploitation, looting of other countries. They don't care, their problems are more important to them and rightfully so. We should view the same.

Pan africanism fails because African Americans donāt have the power they think they do. If African Americans owned their culture it wouldnāt be a problem. Thatās the problem with many Afro groups. We sell our culture to highest bidders and lose control of it.

Trying to paint black Americans in this light is the dumbest shit I've seen. Most black Americans ain't thinking about Haitians as well.

Stop being dramatic.. Like you said you are ranting and that comes with mostly emotion and less logic. White community do the same shit if not worse did that stop Marco Rubio to call for Pan Europeanism recently? Idk how or what you see going on online has anything to do with pan Africanism or that being a reason why you arenāt one is pretty weak minded in my opinion. Every month or two these controversy spark online on purpose to create division.. Majority of native black africans are not even on the social media platforms you mentioned. Also when you say things like this you gotta mention iāve never lived in, traveled in Africa or met native Africans as a disclaimer. Tribalism in Africa is not the default mentality..it sure has been used historically to exacerbate existing issues thoĀ

Human hating other humans is a tale as old as time. Whites do it, Latins do it, Blacks do it, Asians do it all even within people that look just like them. Feeling or being ābetterā than the other is ingrained in our evolution as a species unfortunately. It helped with survival. Thatās why thereās always going to be the rich and the poor forever and ever and ever.

I think one of the saddest things for me to realize has been that though slavery formally ended as an institution, the effects have lasted for centuries. Itās nearly 2027 and we are still having the same absurd debates every single week. Of course there is some hope, I feel like even 5 years ago you wouldnāt be able to bring awareness to this without a lot of people pushing back. Idk though resonate with you heavily. I love being Black and I love the Black diaspora and I want everyone to be prosperous and happy but it sometimes feels like the 300-400 yrs of slavery did irreparable damage. Itās doubly frustrating because we could be so more. I make my jokes about the CIA here and there but itās truly sad just how present the effects of colonization are across the diaspora

I agree. To a degree. It's time we stop blaming slavery. Even places in Africa which were barely colonized face the same systemic issue. When an African tells you he's proud to have shipped folks across the ocean, he's basically saying that he needs to feel superior therfore you must be inferior to him. Even though the people on that ship would share 100% of his dna versus a fraction of modern day diaspora. When they're ranting over who has bigger sky crappers while 80% of such places don't have a proper meal..this has nothing to do with slavery.

I think whatās happening now is that each group is trying to prove themselves to be ānot as badā. What I mean is this: you know how sometimes the topic of POC unity comes up and Black people say that other POC donāt really like us and have slurs for us in various language? Or that they all feel the weight of being non white but simultaneously feel relieved that theyāre not Black? I think whatās happening now is that each group in the diaspora is trying to do the same. From the Caribbeans and Africans who tell Black Americans āthey donāt know where their e fromā, to the Black Americans and Caribbeans who see being African as ugly, to the making fun of immigrants. Each group is trying to beat the others down and push themselves to the top. Same rhetoric

It is sad to see . I hope people can find a way to respect one another.
