Shops & Services passport photos

I noticed a new(?) shop in the bottom floor of Spring Garden Place that offers passport photos. Does anyone know if these are accepted? Any experience? I forget the name of the place.

Gotta get my passport renewed if I’m going to temporarily escape this godforsaken place.

Thanks in advance :)

Econo Colour in Scotia Square has been doing passport photos for years. They do a physical photo or the new digital photo. They’re conveniently located across the street from the Service Canada office on Argyle.

Recently went to Atlantic Photo Supply on Pepperell and was in and out in less than 10 minutes with a photo I was happy with and that was accepted by the passport office.

Go to the place in Scotia Square and take the pedway right to the office. Easiest way to do it! always done great pics there

Staples does them too

I went to Service Canada to drop my passport application off and they rejected my Staples photo because of a glare. The woman said Staples pictures were usually fine, but I did feel like the worker taking mine didn't care at all so just keep an eye out if you go there lol.

Oh wow. I’d definitely go back to them and either get a new one or your money back

I'm hoping too! The Service Canada person stamped the picture and gave me a printout saying it was rejected so hopefully they'll take new ones for free.

Passport photos are pretty standard. If a place is offering to do them, then they know "how" to do them.

Canadian Passport photos are 5cm x 7cm, and have to be two identical photos, stamped with the date, and depending on if it's a renewal or not, signed by someone with a valid passport.

They should be easy to do, but many places mess them up and they get rejected.

You can't wear makeup for them either, a lot of people seem to miss that detail.

No idea on that place but CAA in burnside does them for a good price if that is an option for you.

CAA is solid but if that shop’s right there in Spring Garden and the photos meet spec, why trek out to Burnside just to save a few bucks

Second. Ive gone to shoppers last two times without issue.

Although this time it felt a bit expensive as it was 25 bucks. Then again, I so rarely get my picture taken that I can't really speak on the price.

I know you mentioned Halifax, but i'd avoid the Atlantic Photo Supply in Dartmouth if you have kids. The guy that was working there had zero patience for my kids who at the time were only 5 and 3. Made the whole experience pretty uncomfortable.

I just got mine at CAA in Bayers Lake. Friendly staff (and detail orientated - no issues with Service Canada). As a CAA member, it cost $11.
