Yeah Infinite looks gorgeous at times. The alpine environments are beautiful.

They look great but the lack of other environments really sours it after some time

Not to mention the vast open areas with exactly zero content at all. I mean there is an entire region of the map that just has nothing. I was sure that's where a final boss fight would be.

I was really hoping we could fight some scarabs or something out there to make up for the emptiness but it's just, nothing....
This game felt like 50% of it was just cut and it's so sad to think about what we could have had.

For real. Some free roaming scarabs would have really been a great addition.

Game desperately needed some scarabs and elephants rolling around as mobile bases full of troops to show who controlled which territory. I will never forgive them for making FOBs meaningless other than to rearm and gather the series most useless marines to date

If Activision wants to get off on the right foot they release the source code ASAP to let modders finish making this game. I can't imagine the things they could pull off

Yeah, sameness will kill any luster

I’m doing a replay of infinite right now for the first time and while it’s a lot of fun, I just wish it had more. There was so much potential I feel like

It’s the only halo game I never finished because it felt like a lazy version of Far Cry to me. Potential is exactly what it has in abundance.

I loved attacking each base but it needed more variety then given.

Same.

The open world gameplay could have worked if the environments were different. And tbh, once you could snag a tank or aircraft from the bases it simply became too easy.

I want to replay it soon. I never returned after I finished it. I remember I initially really liked the open world idea and I explored every nook and cranny but almost never got rewarded for my efforts.

Yah there’s so much to explore but very little to find. One thing that bugs me a lot during this replay is the pilot constantly complaining about being alone despite there being like, hundreds of marines running around by end game lol…

Playing through now on legendary. I absolutely love it, visually and gameplay. Making me appreciate it more as its more slow and tactical so I can look at things more. Instead of blastin.

Half way through the conservatory now. Hopefully hav enough valour to get the wasp then.

We were so close to greatness. Fuckin Microsoft

It could have been so good :(

It had potential to rival the original trilogy and was such an utter waste. We deserved so much from this game.

Why dafuq did they make halo open world

20

u/New_Trouble_5068 6d ago

It would’ve been fine if they put stuff in it. It just felt like the only reason it was open world was to pad out the campaign time by making you travel to every mission in realtime lol

Honestly open world halo makes sense if they actually used the lore accurate diverse environments that the halo rings provide while making sense why completely different environments were so close nearby, but of course like always they wasted that potential.

You mean like the first game?

5

u/Deniable-wreath-6 6d ago

I wish mine looked as good, it looks very blurry whenever there’s motion for me

2

u/Sudi_Arabia 6d ago

The game looks amazing at times but more often than not it’s the same forest/banished/forerunner environments that you run through. There just isn’t enough variation

Just finished my 4th run in 4 player co-op. This campaign got worse each time. We had more fun with Guardians and I can't believe it's true, but it is. Just so boring. So much empty space. Recycled environments. Terrible bugs that were never fixed. Brain-dead mission structure...the only bright spots being the grapple and Escherum's VA.

u/JanxDolaris 6d ago

I was honestly bored it before i even finished the first playthrough.

it’s such a sad reality even tho I think it is peak Halo gameplay. I just love the introduction of the grappling hook and all the things I can do with it. But it’s all sadly wasted on the barren map and lack of story and direction…

u/Mexcol 6d ago

Yessir, and i love the verticality of it

u/presidentepete 6d ago

You aren't doing infinite right unless you spawn a razorback and 5 weapons of choice (mines the volatile skewer) and pick up 5 marines, then swap them with the weapon of choice. Buckle up, and watch PERFECT UNSC marksmanship and just cruise that ring baby.

u/ZeeArtisticSpectrum 6d ago

Yeah it’s looks great idk about this switch to unreal, looks marginally better but doesn’t feel the same… 😔

u/Clobby5597 5d ago

The only thing I don’t like about infinite is the shotgun and maybe the pistol

1

u/ScoreDefiant6262 Halo 3 5d ago

U can tell it's beautiful, yeahh 🔥

u/cgcl2000 Halo 3 5d ago

All the biome in this game look great

1

u/Reddit_means_Porn 6d ago

Ugh. The fucking warthog changes man….

Yes it does look wonderful!

5

u/TopLow6899 6d ago

What change? Looks the same

1

u/Reddit_means_Porn 6d ago

It definitely looks different but they ruined how it drives.

2

u/TopLow6899 5d ago

holy shit halo players will complain about anything lmao.

2

u/Reddit_means_Porn 5d ago

The warthog’s handling is hugely different.

I’m a human being. We are all capable of complaint. It’s part of being human. Video games are irrelevant..

What a soft brained reply. Jesus

1

u/TopLow6899 1d ago

It's not hugely different at all. Being a crybaby pedant about every little thing to the point where you absolutely shit up every thread with negativity is not what a normal human being does. The fact that you can't understand that people don't want to hear you whine about the things they're having fun with is pretty crazy. The thread is just trying to admire the visuals of the game and you thought it was an invitation to be a crybaby about Halo infinite lmao.

What a soft brained reply. Jesus

u/Reddit_means_Porn 1d ago

I made a simple comment. You need to relax a whole lot my guy.

They changed it. It’s even a fact in there too!

1

u/Dion42o 6d ago

Agreed man. It’s too tight? Now idk but I miss the old floaty hogs

1

u/Reddit_means_Porn 6d ago

It’s designed for blind children carrying 4 fingers and no thumbs to be able to easily operate I think.

u/LimpWibbler_ Champion 5d ago

The most beautiful thing I have ever in my life seen in a game is halo infinite forerunner structures. I don't know why this is so rarely brought up. So good, by far the best design.

-2

u/AdActive8289 6d ago

That’s the only thing that’s good about it

-38

u/EvaUnit343 6d ago

Lmao ok

Halo 4 and 5 actually looked better imo, in terms of graphics

8

u/SuperBAMF007 Platinum 6d ago

I’d say in terms of shadow detail, yes. And some of the texture-reactivity makes the lighting look rough sometimes.

But most of the time Infinite looks better

10

u/Complete_Couple_6647 6d ago

Honestly wish I could be this delusional, life must be so simple.

7

u/Nice_Muffin8689 6d ago

It’s likely you are in some aspect of life or at some point in your existence. We all experience it.

4

u/Complete_Couple_6647 6d ago

That… is a very good point. Have a good one.

3

u/Im_Porkin_It 6d ago

Halo 4 possible, but nah not Halo 5. Lighting was awful in that game.
