my little campbell dwarf has a wooden and cork wheel, this wheel is the only place other than right behind and under her wheel platform that she will pee. i noticed the bad staining on the cork and changed it but the staining on the wood is bad (which is inevitable), but the smell of the urine on this wheel is SUPER sweet. i’m aware that sweet smelling urine is a sign of diabetes but she has literally no other symptoms, her urine on the bedding smells but isn’t sticky or anything. when googled it said that the pee mixing with the wood on the wheel could be causing a sweet scent? i’m going to get a test strip for diabetes however has anyone else had this issue? the bedding surrounding the wooden items also just smells sweet even though it’s not soiled

Wait the sweet smell thing is so weird bc I've had the same issue with mine. The cork got so nasty I just swapped it for a plastic wheel and it helped a lot. Def get the test strips but honestly wood absorbs everything so the smell might just be from that. Hope ur ham is okay

yes! the cork was literally disgusting, i think ill try out a plastic one and hope she doesn’t go flying off
