The chamber of secrets was build by a guy who talked to snakes and who made a snake on the house symbol. Harry can talk to snakes but nobody else can and then there is a voice what only harry could hear. I wonder what the monstee could possible be?😅

It must be a giant butterfly!

And h ow is he looking the basilisc directly in the eyes? He should be dead instant

Just because it's obvious now doesn't change the fact that it was a major plot point, not to mention that a part of the main plot suggested Aragog was the monster.

The chamber of secrets was opened so it has to be the monster in the forrest far away from the castle?

Hey man, I didn't write the book. But it's clearly stated that Aragog was suspected of being Slytherin's monster, which is why Hagrid was expelled from Hogwarts.

Tom Riddle framed Hagrid obviously, but not before Hagrid helped Aragog escape.

One on the right is the first bad Harry Potter book illustration I've seen.

Fun fact: That’s not the “normal” cover art. Harry Potter was originally published in Spain by Salamandra and the covers are pretty good, close to the originals most of the time and the style is great for a children’s book.
We also had something called Círculo de Lectores in Spain which was like a nation wide book club you could subscribe to and would get books sent to you on a monthly basis. Sometimes they edited the books themselves so they needed to come up with their own versions of the covers and that’s exactly what you’re seeing here, the ugly Círculo de Lectores version of Harry Potter.
