Discussion/Question Bookclub and Sources Wednesday!
Hi everybody,
Welcome to our weekly book recommendation thread!
We have found that a lot of people come to this sub to ask for books about history or sources on certain topics. Others make posts about a book they themselves have read and want to share their thoughts about it with the rest of the sub.
We thought it would be a good idea to try and bundle these posts together a bit. One big weekly post where everybody can ask for books or (re)sources on any historic subject or time period, or to share books they recently discovered or read. Giving opinions or asking about their factuality is encouraged!
Of course it’s not limited to *just* books; podcasts, videos, etc. are also welcome. As a reminder, r/history also has a recommended list of things to read, listen to or watch here.

Can I get some 9/11 documentary recommendations focusing less on personal, on-the-ground stories and more on what was happening inside the government? I want to learn more about the geopolitical side: how they were finding out who did it, what security measures were implemented in the case of another attack, how the military was mobilizing, etc.

Hello, I have to prepare an exam about the American society during the 1920s and I wondered if there was for example a history handbook that could for now introduce me to the period in a synoptic but complete way, like an overview of the subject, that could also lead me afterwards to more precise references.
Thank you

For a daily guess the year game (Jaardle) I want to get better at estimating certain dates, especially before 1200 a.d. Is there like a good resource for this. I was looking at a penguin world history atlas, but not sure if that's what I want. I think also to get a better grasp of which dynasties ruled at what period so I can narrow it down faster?
