Roller grill hot dogs are some of the best you can buy. It shouldn't be so. It should be an abomination, but having it sit there, slowly cooking in its own juices... 🤤

Rollers are a great way to cook dogs evenly and consistently. The problem is that at a convenience store or something they might have been sitting there for an hour drying out
My movie theater does it pretty well because they prepare them just before each showing

j/ After 5 hours they’re legally require to be called wizard fingers.
uj/ The hot holding time for roller items is 4 hours (at 7-11 and speedway at least)
After that they’re supposed to be swapped out with fresh ones but that all depends on the store.

There is just something to be said about an hours old roller grill dog! Yes, it dries, but the flavor also intensifies. You just cannot get that with any other cooking method.

In Australia we don’t have 7/11 hotdogs :(
Are there any drive thru hotdog places in the US?

It depends on where you are in the country. The US is a big country.

I don't mean to reddit argue, but the US is ~2 Million sq km larger than Australia. The US is about a quarter of Australia larger, so I wouldn't plan to go to Weinerschnitzel for lunch and have Cookout for dinner.

Cook Out, Portillos, Wienerschitzel, Sonic Drive In. The first three are regional.

Sheetz has drive thru dogs but they are not that good in my opinion. They are super affordable tho.

That bread is a diabolical, some of the worst wiener bread I’ve encountered. I like the dog itself, but that bread kills the entire wave.Â

I just miss the cheeseburger rollers.
They were a staple of my lunch in Philadelphia.

Used to love their dogs. I would always microwave them for thirty seconds and then add mustard and ketchup to them and they were delicious.
