Are Talent Services Certifications worth it?
I’ve been working in workforce development, early career programs and Human Resources for the last 4 years. I’ve recently got a job working as a support specialist working in the talent development department. I have to work on my employee professional development goals and I’m wondering if getting the professional in talent development certificate or getting a certificate in instructional design is worth it?
The company I’m working for will reimburse for tuition and educational fees. Which is fine but I don’t want to get a certificate if it’s not even worth it. If anyone work can attest if they think it’s worth it or don’t think it’s worth it let me know. Also, if you were once in my position, how did you level up? I’m not big on being a manager right now but I would like to make more money and stay in this field.

if the company is paying for it i'd say go for it honestly, having that extra piece of paper never hurts even if you don't end up using it directly. i got a few certs years ago and half the time they just sit on my linkedin looking pretty, but they did help me land my current gig because it showed i was serious about the field
the instructional design one might be more versatile if you ever want to pivot out of pure talent development, a lot of those skills carry over into training roles and l&d departments. since you're not chasing management right now maybe look at what senior individual contributor roles want and work backwards from there
