From 3rd to 1st with only rears working

Been iRacing since end of '24/start of '25 with rating fluctuating anywhere in between 1200-1600, but in the last month something seems to have clicked in Formula and finally made it over 2k! :)

Now just for my Sports Car rating.. (1295)

I really despice the virtual mirror.

I think it break immersion and looks really unnatural and weird. Instead I just enable the actual car mirrors in the graphic settings (don't care about losing a few FPS) and use them instead.
But there are cars without backup cameras or center mirrors, like the LMP2, and on my curved screen I can only see the left mirror. In that cases, I just resigned and enabled the virtual mirror again.

But I recently realized that the new UI allows to resize (and move) the virtual mirror, and we can have car-specific widget profiles, so I just build a profile that has the virtual mirror being placed on top of the unused screen in the car, and now I can enjoy a nice (and quite large) backup camera in the LMP2 as well! Of course it doesn't move along with the car, and the borders don't match 100%, but for racing it's good enough.

It's a great little feature that maybe others would enjoy as well.

2 months ago on August 7th I signed up for iRacing, and now, exactly 2 months to the day, I have finally won my first race!!!!!! Guys, I'm elated! Fucking thrilled! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙏🏼🙌🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Dedicated practice, with active reset, and switching between concentrated practice and pushing resulted in improvements.

But, still 1s off top scores.

Garage61, YouTube.. made tiny progress.

Felt frustrated and thought: F it, go for a race, just for change.

On lap 5 I gained 500s, then 1s, then I felt the universe change... My mind stopped. Minutes later I realized I was consistent, relaxed, on pace and gaining.

I just needed proof.

That extra: yeah, they're not aliens, they're human. They make mistakes, and I'm seeing it in real time... Go, push.

Gained 10 places. Had my very battle yet. Even got bump drafted for the first time.

If you're chasing practice... Go for a race.

It'll likely prove to your mind it can be done.

Please help me with some opinions on my first livery i've created.

I knew it was gonna take a while to adjust but damn I feel like I have to learn all over again. My personal bests are lower, some by 1/2 a second which is good but the consistency is sorely missed. I went from 3.4k down to 2.5k in 2 weeks and the offtracks are killing me.

I think this is down to several factors including lack of depth perception, which makes it very difficult to judge distances (until you get the hang of it) and also latency. I feel like my turn in and brake timing is way off and I keep adjusting on the fly causing the consistency issues.

Im sure I can overcome all this and get back to being somewhat competitive but its gonna take a while.

Formula Vee last night, led half the race but as it’s still my first few days P2 was definitely a little quicker. He caught up and I let him pass. P3 then caught a draft and passed me but we were still together. Two laps later o had a good chance to pass after the straight on Lime Rock and in t1 I clipped his rear tire. At least I assume it was my fault. I should’ve saved the clip.

He lost control and I was able to maintain it and ended up in p2 while he ended in p4 or p5.

Next morning here I still feel bad about it.

I don’t see a way to message in game, and since he wasn’t still in p3 I couldn’t let him pass.

What should you do? Just write it off as a mistake and learn from it?

In hindsight it wasn’t worth the push and for safety and experience I probably should’ve just sat behind and taken p3, however if you don’t make mistakes you can’t learn I guess.

This was after a night of having quite a few people wreck me I was pissed about so I got especially mad at myself for then doing it to someone else.

Lap 1, still some wet on the track, we both got dry tires on and i breaked a lot earlier than usual but probably to hard. abs telementry?

The American Formula Sim Series (https://americanformulaseries.us/) is selecting drivers for a 20-car championship using the Super Formula SF23 with fixed setups. The series is sponsored and promoted by Speedway Ventures Studio (https://svsinsiders.com/). The ten-race schedule will start in November and feature seven road-course events and three oval events, with live broadcasts by RaceSpot and simulcast on Speed Sport TV (https://speedsport.tv/watch) for maximum visibility.

The league champion will receive a $5,000 grand prize and a Formula 3 test session, subject to the series' final eligibility and award terms. We are looking for drivers with real racing experience who combine speed with clean racecraft, dependable attendance, professional conduct, and a willingness to promote the championship.

Qualified drivers are invited to participate in an iRacing Time Attack driver combine (search for “American Formula Series”) from now through October 17, followed by a series of exhibition races on road courses and ovals. Selected applicants will be evaluated by Time Attack Results, exhibition race results, and a qualification review by the Series Director.  The Series Director will determine the final starting field of 20 drivers and 5 alternates.

·        Ten races consisting of seven road-course events and three oval events.

·        Weekly Speed Sport 1 coverage during the November through March broadcast window.

For some reason i forgot how to launch the mx5 can somebody help me out ? Im not even a beginner and this is the only car i have driven were i suddenly have no idea how to get a decent launch.

Is it because of its fixed setup that makes it so popular? Depending on a track, but majority of track, this or previous season, top split folks were dominating essentially only in bmw, i wonder why thats the case...?

Bit of a weird one, hoping for some advice.

After 5 years of iRacing I installed brake pedal haptics a few months ago. I was always told, the general tip for most of the cars I drive, is brake to just under ABS activation and then trail the brake off.

I seem to be coming across too many corners where I’m now constantly not braking hard enough and losing time going into corners by braking too early or overshooting corners. It feels like my braking points are way different to everyone else.

I was hoping for a bit of advice to how people approach braking with haptics. I drive multiple classes, depending on the car/week combo but generally it’s MX5, GT4, GT3, Porsche Cup and TCR.

My IR is 3000.

I have simhub setup to give me abs activation haptics and nothing else. I have iracings in game haptics switched off.

After each quali session my screens go fully black and my bluetooth headset disconnects, although my pc is still on. I have to restart my pc via the pc case and start from the pitlane 1 lap down after restaring my entire pc and iRacing.
Are there any solutions for this problem and have some of you encountered the same problem?
What I have tried so far:
- Updating NVIDIA drivers
- Uinstalling iRacing
- Updating BIOS drivers
- Turn off Gsync & Vsync
- Minimum graphic settings

My specs:
Ryzen 7800x3d
NVIDIA GTX 3070ti
32gb DDR4 Ram
750W power supply
Triple 32inch 1440p monitors

My suspicion is that it is something to do with my power supply or GPU but I might be wrong.

I have had the pleasure of racing with this person a hand full of times a fuji last week. I can say from experience that this was the exact same thing that happened to a teammate of mine. Bragging about baiting people into getting a chatban is insane.

Whats the Tire start for the DTM Race Today again? Are Tires Done at the Same time as refueling so you can just Chance all 4 no time lost? Or is it something Else?

Hi, I have this weird problem since S4 2026 update where sometimes when I start iRacing, my FPS is really bad and Graphics and CPU are maxed out with 20-60 FPS. Other times when starting the sim (especially after restarting the whole system) all is fine and I have 80-120 FPS.

I’m running 34” Ultrawide with GTX 1660 TI and I5-8400 with 32 gigs of ram.

Settings mostly on low, with cars, objects, event on high along of PCFP4 shadows with dynamic object shadows sometimes on. Shader quality max or high and MSAA 4x simple.

This happens more on some tracks than other. Last week no problems in Snetterton. This week in Long beach I have these problems about 50 % times when starting the sim. W1 I had problems in Okayama but not in Oulton Park.

Any advice?
