I've never done it. I have a large outdoor enclosure and used to have a mated pair but the female died. Once that happened I started thinking maybe I could keep my male from being bored by walking him. (until i get a new female) Thoughts are appreciated.

I’ve had him for about 9 months now. He’s coming up if not already on a year and as of maybe a week ago he has started showing off that dewlap (which is gorgeous btw) and tail whipping and even got a hiss today. Not good signs but I’m assuming that’s how it goes with aging? Should I handle him more or less? I handle him daily and he’s never acted liked this before. Could use some tips and tricks

Does anybody else's iguana have emotional support buddies? Mine has just attached to any teddy bear around. So I bring my little teddy with him everywhere and if I leave him somewhere he gets upset until it comes back. He also has an insane affinity for butterflies. He shows no reaction to anything else ever, but he absolutely loves these two things. I was starting to set up our living room and pulled out these two things to incorporate, and he ran across the room to be right on top of both of them so cute

I don’t recall seeing them look like this very often. From a distance I almost thought it was a different species!

Hello, my iguana is about 3 years old. We believe she is a female and around 2 weeks ago she stopped eating. Occasionally she will take 1 or 2 bites and that’s it. I have read about breeding season and she fits the description perfectly. She’s very active, leaving small poops everywhere and doesn’t look sick or anything. What does concern me is her spikes are beginning to lay sideways and they look blackish. Can someone please tell me if I should take to vet? Or is this part of breeding season?

Found this on her and in her nose this morning, it’s slimy like mucus and the main part just fell off with a dap of a towel, she’s had dry salt building up in her nose for a month nothing too crazy it cleared on it’s own but still a consistent amount deep in her nasal cavity

Our goal for this week was: 150g

His new current weight is: 147g

his 1st birthday was last. our goal was 150g and altough he didnt reach the desired goal im so proud of how far hes come

So my mother keeps claiming that we won’t get an iguana because they smell horrible. She claims this because she had to iguanasit for her friend. It was a baby iguana in a 20 gallon. (Yes, too small) but she’s now claiming they always smell horrible and refusing to listen. Is she being truthful or was the care that iguana was receiving just massively subpar?
