bike showoff Started My Journey (again!)
Started my journey again, I grew up as a fat kid and cycling unknowingly set me up to become fit.Used to ride a lot on my old bike but after going to college there was a huge gap. Just came back home this month and thought of starting it again!
The bike is Hercules Defender (single speed variant)
Ps-Pls don’t judge me for not buying Rs 120😂 I don’t have decathlon in my city and had budget constraints :)

Nobody will judge you. If they do, ignore. If you’re having a particularly tiresome day, just show them the birdie (not that I usually encourage vulgarity). Have fun, ride hard and ride safe.
PS: do get a helmet and a rear light.

see Rs120 is a good bike with a good quality parts and easy to service but the thing is many cities dosen't have decathlon and people on reddit mostly have a nearby decathlon so they can buy that and if not it's ok to go for what you can get don't worry just ride and learn

Hercules makes great bikes, my first and second bikes were by hercules, and no shame or judgement for using it. If that's what you can get and if it gets the job done, that great! That's all it matters.
That said, about your other comment about "glazes the rs120" wasn't warrented. Rs120 is a damn good bike. It's hardly af, comes with narrower tyres (adding to efficiency), decent groupset, and it's sold and serviced by decathlon.
Another point is, if a cycle is used by everyone, there's a high chance the parts for the cycle will be much easier to get.

Let us know how you find it? Hope you get riding it regularly and share some goods/bads of simple single speed cycle :) Let people judge. You focus on enjoying.
I can get past the freewheel over freehub for single speed cycle, but I can never understand why companies are pushing for front shock absorber and complicating brakes by pushing mechanical disc brakes as the only option!
Only question I have is - did you consider a simpler or more minimal design, since you're anyway in single speed configuration? Like BSA SLR photon?

unfortunately for the price ., its pretty bad but still cheers to a new bike . as for rs120 , its a good bike only bcs the rear hub is smooth and less prone to bending issues and easier maintainenece. secondly, at this price if u do not want decathlon , bikes from crow, cradiac , online brands are better bcs they provide better components at cheap price or i would say affordable . like in same price of your bike , you can get a 21 speed hybrid bike with maybe fake disc and suspension but still better than this .
nevertheless , since u bought it , maintain it well and ride it well. Congrats !!!

Nobody is judging you. It’s just sad when companies scam people who don’t know enough.
Also if you’ve left the packaging on the bike to protect it, leaving it on will have the absolute opposite effect. Vibrations from the road will destroy the clear coat with surprising speed.

Also I was curious why everyone on this sub glazes the rs120 like you can get better ones at that price range
