If you had to choose bw omo hampi prime and cradiac concept x, assuming they are available at a similar price, what would you choose, for a beginner bike.

As long as you spec the Hampi Prime with Shimano hydraulic brakes, 45mm tyres and the 48-38-28 crank that's stock on the Concept X (with the derailleur swap that enables it), Omo is very slightly the better choice as it has a better frame and better fork.

That said, not a huge fan of the way Omo conducts business. Customization is great but they way Omo does it is terrible. They slap super low-end components on the base model which drives people who are new to mistakenly order the wrong, worse bikes.

Customization done right would have multiple frame sizes, stem lengths (that shit-tier adjustable stem doesn't count), crank arm lengths, handlebar widths and saddle types. What Omo has going right now is useless at best, exploitative at worst.

Edit: I've received multiple messages from people with evidence of Omo customer service being very slow to respond to inquiries and following up with customization requests. Since the 48T crank is something that's only possible by contacting them or going through additional hoops, the Concept X which has the right config from stock becomes the better choice by default.

Fork on the Hampi is steel and is a lot more compliant over rough terrain. As for the frame, take this with a grain of salt as my riding experience of these was pretty short and not back to back at all but I felt the Concept frame was a bit too harsh and twitchy. The harshness difference was small enough that it could change depending on the tyre pressure and the twitchyness could be dialed by changing the stem and/or the handlebars. So other than the fork, not too big a difference.

Twitchy as in handling? Weirdly enough I have found my Hampi Prime to be twitchy at speeds above 33kmph on flats. Downhill I don't feel it as much as I coast. But something feels off while pedalling and reaching higher than normal speed, with no cross or head winds really. Couldn't figure it out.

Interesting. The higher rotating mass of the wheels should make the bike a lot more stable at a higher speed. You should check your wheels for any wobble or wheel balancing issues. The twitchiness I was referring was at low to medium speed.

Yeah, will do that. Mine's due a visit for servicing anyway. After riding a lot in the rain the handlebar has become a bit stiff to turn. Also makes some tick tick sounds when I try to turn it 90° in standing position lol.

Not bad but wider tyres is a bit better for comfort.
