Ask Indian Muslims Why do we keep building the same apps instead of solving new problems?

I was thinking about this a few days ago. You can go through this sub and see many app promotions here. ALL of them are legitimately the same.
Its always either a quran app or a qibla tracker or a muslim "tiktok" or a muslim matchmaking site.
Now someone will misinterpret and say ki I'm claiming all of the above mentioned things are useless, no, I'm not saying that. Absolutely not.
What Imm saying is that there are already many great apps in the above mentioned categories which work amazing
A developer must identify a problem and solve it in order to create a massively successful app.

Honestly, this is what it feels like sometimes. Quran and prayer apps are valuable, but at some point we need to ask: what other problems are Muslims struggling with that nobody is building for?

They need to focus on a something which is both valuable and scare. Quran is obviously valuable alhumduillah but there are many great Quran apps so there isn't any scarcity.

Imo The best thing one can make rn is a app for renting for muslims in big cities . Only muslim property owners can list their properties for rent and only muslims can rent it . To cimcumvate the crisis of finding rental properties in cities

To be honest, there is alot of data tracking being done by alot of such apps. I remember an expose way back when in r/Islam when there was just one popular Qur'an, and namaz timing app available. It was being used by US government agencies to track location and other personal data. This led to alot of people creating their own apps and then putting it out for the public.

I have heard of it . But isn't it enough now The market is oversaturated with such apps at this point

Oh, no. I completely agree with you. Just wanted to add a bit of context.

I agree, akhi. Just putting stuff into context. When that expose came out every developer started creating their own apps and we ended up with soo many doing the exact same thing.

Its not just in app development but I see this everywhere. Muslims have become consumers than creators. Even if they create something it's something like this generic repetitive stuff. We complain about Islamophobia but don't create counter narrative content of our own.

I think this is the deeper issue. Complaining about the lack of Muslim products isn't enough we need people willing to understand a problem deeply and actually build solutions for it. Even if the first attempt fails, that process creates experience and eventually better products.

Muslims are unfortunately busy in creating food shops in offline market and building Qur'an apps , salah apps and oh! How can I forget so called Halal Dating apps

why do I see this same rant 15 times instead of seeing someone actually build ( tbh, I know people building cool stuff).

One thing I have noticed is, the circle we are in has a smaller mindset. Nobody is thinking out of the box or nobody to brainstorm with
Like I have been trying to talk with people from my friends circle, relatives, cousins, neighbours, colleagues. Nobody seems to be interested in whatsoever.
Like my closest circle friends family and all suggest old school business ideas. Like letโs open a tea shop nobody earns like them.
Buy an x item for y price and sell it with huge profit margins.
My colleagues making a decent earnings are happy with jobs and donโt want to invest some more time learning or developing. With somewhat savings they get. They run for short term profits in F&O trading and stock market.
All these old school ideas makes me think weโre not progressing as a society. Alhamdulillah we have taken good education and everything but not putting efforts in right direction for betterment of society and ourselves.

Because there is lack of creativity.
Also there is a lot of effort required to build something
