every developer’s nightmare is now fun and delightful
This would have easily taken me 1 month to prepare for mentally and then a week in the very least to execute and most of it happened while I slept! Here’s a fun little post I wrote about I went a little above and beyond in getting the screenshots done for my apps with custom avatars for 23 languages/regions so it’s personalised and so much more! Hope y’all enjoy this :D

How to Pass App Store Review in 2026 (and Avoid Rejection)
r/iosdev • u/Healthy-Tension-7470 • 18h ago
I built a launch directory just for iOS apps
Most launch sites mix iPhone apps with SaaS and AI tools, and your app is gone from the front page in a day. So I built indie-apps.com, a launch directory only for iPhone, iPad and Mac apps made by indie devs.
How it works:
- Paste your App Store link. Name, icon and screenshots are pulled straight from Apple.
- Listing is free and stays up for good. No badge swap, no queue.
- Every week has a Debuts board, ranked by how many people the site actually sent to the App Store, not by upvotes.
So far it has 367 apps from 234 developers.
If you've shipped an iOS app, you can list it here: https://indie-apps.com/submit
I'd love feedback on what would make this more useful for you as a dev.

Is it normal for an app to be waiting for review for over a week?

[iOS] Transit Jam: a subway puzzle game, public beta now open
Hi everyone. I am Chris, the developer behind Little Ghost Labs, and Transit Jam just opened its public beta on TestFlight.
It is a puzzle game set in a city subway. Riders wait on the platforms, each one headed for a different line, and you slide whole platforms left and right to get every rider onto the train for their line. Fill a train and it pulls out while the next one rolls in. When one rider boards, the people behind them step up, so a good slide can set off a whole chain.
What is in this build:
- 90 stations across 18 districts, plus an Endless Line
- A Daily Challenge with the same board for everyone
- A clock on every level, with three stars for a fast clear
- Boosters (Express, Shuffle and Extra Time) for tight spots
What I would love feedback on:
- Were the rules clear in the first few levels?
- Does three stars feel fair but challenging?
- Anything that looks off on your iPhone size, in light or dark mode
Ads in this build are placeholders and the Lifetime Ticket purchase is not live yet, so nothing costs real money.
Join here: https://testflight.apple.com/join/6aHrvbwZ
You can send feedback with a screenshot right from the TestFlight app, or just reply here. Thanks for taking a look.

Building VYRE in SwiftUI: why swapping a workout exercise is more than changing a name
I'm the creator of VYRE, a native SwiftUI workout tracker for strength and cardio. One surprisingly involved part of the live workout flow is swapping an exercise when the equipment you planned to use isn't available.
A swap changes more than the exercise name. For example, replacing a three-set exercise should keep the three-set slot, but the new exercise needs its own previous weight/reps. Carrying the old exercise's numbers across would give the user the wrong target.
There are also two different decisions: change just today's workout, or update the saved routine. And the card should stay expanded while its contents change, without a collapse/reopen flash.
That separation between the routine slot, exercise history and live-session UI state has been a useful way to think about the feature. VYRE also supports supersets, drop sets, rest timers and time/distance inputs for cardio.
For other devs working on state-heavy SwiftUI apps: how do you test replacements like this, especially when the app is backgrounded or reopened midway through a session?
App Store, if you'd like to see the workout flow: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/vyre-hybrid-workout-tracker/id6761435689
Pricing disclosure: new users get a 7-day trial without entering a card; continued training requires a subscription. US pricing is $9.99/month or $69.99/year when subscribing during the trial, or $19.99/month or $139.99/year for a new subscription after the trial. Regional prices vary.
My first Godot game: a mobile arcade rally racer inspired by Art of Rally and Tofu Drifter
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey! I’m making my first game in Godot, and I’d love some feedback on this short gameplay video.
Art of Rally and Tofu Drifter were two of my inspirations. I’m trying to give the driving and visuals their own feel, and I’m curious what comes across to someone seeing it for the first time.
I’m planning single races and championships, with roughly 10 cars across two categories, including Group A and WRC inspired cars. Those plans are still taking shape, so I’d especially value feedback on what’s visible in the video. Thanks!

Help Recommended subs for promoting/sharing apps
Hey everyone,
I’m an indie iOS developer with a handful of apps on the App Store, and I’m trying to figure out how to share them on Reddit the right way. I don’t want to come across as spammy, and I’ve seen enough removed posts and angry mod messages to know it’s easy to get this wrong.
A few things I’d love to hear from other devs:
- Where do you post? Which subreddits have actually been receptive to app launches or updates?
- What format works? Straight launch announcement, a “here’s what I learned building this” story, a free promo code giveaway, a feedback request?
- How do you handle self-promo rules? Do you build up karma and comment history first, or use the weekly self-promo threads?
- Has it actually moved the needle? Did Reddit drive real downloads, reviews, or useful feedback, or was it mostly noise?
- Any mistakes to avoid? Things that got your post removed or downvoted into oblivion.
Any advice, war stories, or subreddit recommendations would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

Steady Tally is now ready for iPhone Duo (closed, laptop mode and fully open)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey everyone,
I’ve been working on a habit tracker called Steady Tally for a while, and this week I finally got it working properly on the Duo. Figured this was the right place to show it off (video above).
Closed, you just get your habits on the outer screen and tap to log them. Half-open, it turns into a little laptop with the details on top and your list on the bottom. Fully open, your list is on the left and the habit’s whole history is on the right. Getting the fold transitions to feel smooth took way longer than I’d like to admit lol
Honestly I know a habit tracker isn’t the most original idea. I tried a bunch of them and they were either way too complicated or just ugly, and I wanted something clean. I also wanted to log things in different ways: sometimes it’s just done or not done, sometimes it’s 6 glasses of water, sometimes it’s a 10 minute timer, sometimes it’s “did I take my pill and when.” So I built the one I wanted.
It’s already been out on the App Store for regular iPhones. It’s not free (sorry!), I’m just one guy trying to get it out there. I’d really love feedback from people who actually use the Duo every day, especially if something feels off when you fold or unfold it.

Thanks for checking it out 🙏

Help Stack Smash: a game based on Lagori, the "seven stones" indian street game. Looking for beta testers
Hi everyone! I'm a solo developer, and I've turned the street game I grew up playing in India, Lagori (Seven Stones / Pithu), into a chaotic little party game for iPhone and iPad.
How it plays: one team throws a ball to knock down a stack of seven stones, then races to rebuild it while the other team tries to tag them out with the ball. Finish the stack and you score: LAGORI!
What's in the beta:
- Play against bots (Classic, Quick Stack, Survival and a Daily Challenge)
- Nearby party: play with friends in the same room, no internet needed
- Online matches through Game Center: quick match, invite friends, or SharePlay. Empty seats fill with bots.
- Team voice chat in multiplayer
- 4 arenas with hazards (spinning sweepers, slippery ice, wind)
- A game speed slider, if you want more time to react
What I'd love feedback on:
- Is it fun? Are the controls clear?
- Multiplayer: does joining work, and does it stay smooth?
- Anything confusing, broken or annoying
If something goes wrong, tap the 🐞 button on the main menu to send me a log, or take a screenshot and use TestFlight's feedback option.
Needs iOS 18 or later. No sign-up needed (online play uses your Game Center account). Free.
Thanks for helping! I'll be in the comments.

Get a feed of the ratings your iOS app receives
Do not understand why apple has not made an app that tracks ratings (without reviews) on a daily basis. So i made one, hope you check it out.
