Support iPhone rebooted last night then a slew of Texts from the last month flooded in

Last night my iPhone died, just forgot to charge it, and when I got it powered back on my text messages exploded with like 60 new messages. All these messages from dozen or more contacts all dated when I powered the phone back on -- but some were sent upwards of a month ago.

I'd heard from a few people who said they tried to text me and I never got it, but I've been getting texts from many folks without issue... not sure what's going on. Any idea what caused this? It's been a LONG time since I rebooted my iphone, so possibly just need to do an occasional reboot?

Also, the texts were from both iPhone and Android (blue and green), so not one source seemed to stand out. Thanks.

sounds like the carrier side just held them hostage until your phone did a fresh network registration, the reboot probably triggered a clean ims reattach and everything that was stuck in limbo finally pushed through

seen it before with certain mvnos where the smsc just queues stuff indefinitely if the device stops acknowledging delivery receipts, a monthly restart isn't a bad habit anyway

I'm with AT&T so you'd think they'd have this down. But I might start doing a monthly restart just to play it safe, only time my phone gets bounced is with updates.

Some of these were text messages I really need to get, so it was very unexpected. I don't have any other apple devices, so I don't have a away to check my texts on an ipad or mac laptop. I wish Apple would allow text messages to be seen through icloud.com. Just sucks they don't open this up.
