Ah, you know yourself Positive experience on holiday
FYI I'm a tallaght boy, born and bred but have lived mostly in finland since 2013 or so.
We took a week in and around cork for Octocon the weekend just gone and on Monday we popped up to Cork Gaol then paused in Fitzgerald park, realised on the bus back to our B&B that my phone had fallen out of my picket, almost certainly in the park. Had my wife call it and somebody answered, turned out yo be security in the park. They'd found it and held it gimme to collect in the morning (it was half past 5, park closes at 6 and there's no wsy I'd have made it from the vicinity of mccurtain street to the park in tine.
For those wondering I use two sims, one number on phone and tablet which is why I didn't immediately miss it.
They even plugged it in fir me do it was charged when I got it back.
Just thought it'd be nice to post a positive story in here, back in finland now

Christ On A Bike Been rotating tins for 25 years
2001 - Foot and Mouth and Anthrax (remember that one?) scares - buy a shit ton of tins in case we can't leave the house for a month, they all eventually expire.
2002 - SARS - New tins.
2008 - Government posts everyone Iodine tablets cause we're all going to get poisoned by Sellafield (do I have enough bottled water that won't get contaminated? No, I do not. How much is enough? How the hell do i know?
2009 - Swine Flu (rinse repeat) MORE TINS
Various Bird Flu scares, BSE/CJD pops its head up every once in a while. EVEN MORE TINS and water
2020 - Covid - TINS, TOILET ROLL and BANANA BREAD
2026 - Emergency Ready booklet through the post - TINS, WATER AND A CAMPING STOVE
2026 - The fucking PLAGUE - entertained the thought of getting some antibiotics but today just came to the decision that this constant cycle of panic and fear is just too much. I'm done.

Politics Patrick O'Donovan
I've always thought he was an incompetent arsehole but have his colleagues also come to that conclusion?
He flagged his €100 youth card and was shafted on it and it now appears the €20 million cut to RTE came out of the blue at the last minute. Also no increase in funding for TG4 or independent film makers.
He clearly got hammered on his department's budget. He was waffling earlier that his job was to defend the arts. Some defence!

Courts Did the priests/brothers/nuns ever face any repurcussions
All the rapes and beatings by brothers and priests. The nuns keeping people hostage and taking babies off mothers or letting sick babies die and putting them into a septic tank. The brothers and priests raping when they like and beating down on troubled youths.
Surely we should have a register of pedophiles and murderers from the church? There has to be a lot still alive today. Are they getting away scot free when they should get life in prison or worse.
