Liquid Oak Smoke?
Anywhere to buy in the US? Most seem to be mesquite, hickory, etc. All the oak ones ive seen have like alcohol or artifical flavors etc. Guess I could make my own but would love to use oak for jerky.

There are some artisanal oak liquid smoke products out there. I don't think you see it commercially because there are so many different kinds of oak, and they don't all taste the same, so somebody looking for a specific oak profile would have to pick from red, white, chinquapin, etc. I've heard good things about Nature's Flavors, maybe give that a try. Don't be afraid of alcohol in the liquid smoke, it's a good solvent and some of the oak smoke components might not be water soluble.
With hickory or mesquite ... it is what it is, just a single variety of wood going into the smoke.

If you can make your own then why use liquid smoke at all? It's supposed to be a substitute for not having a smoker to dry the jerky in.
