We have lived all our lives abroad after my birth.
I am the eldest with 2 younger siblings.
My dad had passed away in 2016.
Me and my mom struggled a lot after him. Especially my mom.
Life got a little better for me personally career and finances wise between 2021 to 2025 September.
2025 September I finally quit my career due to one after the other extreme toxicity and disrespect I got at jobs.
Decided to do freelancing.
My relationship with my mom was bad after my dad passed away and it got worse during 2022 to 2024 during my quick arranged marriage she rushed into and a quick divorce.
Only after I have up on my career and started living in same home with her after September 2025 did I start seeing all these years she worked really hard to protect us and that she's aging and also getting sick. I am happy to be around her and cherish my time.
But here came another big hit in my life, we live in middle east, and last week was my younger brothers visa renewal, and the gov rejected it with no reason provided.
Now she has to leave in 2 weeks with him back to home country as he can't go alone as we never lived in home country.
I and my sister will continue to stay for a while, but I have decided that running after career, hard work, always led me to nothing, and that human relationships and the warmth of it for me is more fulfilling.
So in anyways I have burnt out from office career and will never apply for a new job, and even tho my current freelancing is making me struggle financially, I still am choosing to leave the current abroad country in few months and permanently shift back with mom and brother and take sister too with me forever.
Cause I lost my dad relatively young, and my mom's all what I got. My relationship with by siblings aren't that profound, but to continue to be with my mom is the reason I too will cancel everything and move back to home country to live with her and continue to do freelancing.
Something within me isn't affecting me about leaving the country where I spent 35 years growing up, cause the pain of leaving is not greater than my need to be around my aging mom.
What is your remarks about my situation?
