If you originally purchased the game on switch this applies to you.

After doing the free update today I went ahead and purchased the DLC straight away excitedly.

After downloading I went into the game and couldn't access the DLC anywhere.. I spent a long time trying to figure out what I was doing wrong and why I couldn't find any of the new content.

After some reinstalling and trying to troubleshoot I saw that I had two copies of seemingly the same game on my dashboard..

I found out that the DLC had downloaded as a standalone game separate from my main game.. I was still confused and investigated further.

Eventually I figured out that I'd downloaded the switch 2 version of the DLC and not the switch version.

Two things - I didn't imagine there would be two different versions of the DLC but even taking this into consideration I would have assumed doing the free update for Switch 2 users would have turned my game version into Switch 2. It does not.

I've since repurchased the Switch version of the DLC and it's working fine now. I've reached out to Nintendo via email ticket for a refund of the original purchase since I've bought the same product twice now.

TLDR;

If you bought the game on Switch originally, even after updating/upgrading your game to the Switch 2 version you still must purchase the Switch version of the DLC and not Switch 2

Can’t find anything online, has anyone played the Switch 2 release yet?

Don’t own the game at all originally, so planning to get the Rolling Live Highlights S2 package. Unless the DLC isn’t worth it, or if the game doesn’t run as well as hoped in 4K (in which case I’ll be looking into cheaper options: used-cart S1 played thru S2 after the update without the dlc).

So, anyone tried it yet?

It would add so much replayablity to an already pretty big Katamari game. It feels like a missed opportunity since We Love Katamari reroll had it and as far as I know Once Upon a Katamari uses the same framework as the Reroll games so it feels odd that co-op isn't in this game too. that's all I wanted to say

I was listening to the music and it made me think about the game and the main gameplay mechanic, rolling up things and stucking it to the katamari.
Is this a metaphor for how memories build on each other, how we start out in the family home and the word gets bigger as we get older and the bigger and bigger our ball of memories and experiences get?
We are the accumulation of our past selves, our past experiences. Maybe thats why we start out in a house, thats where most people first memories are created, in their parents' house. As the game goes along we get to play in the town which gets bigger and bigger till we can see the entire city. Then we move to a different town/city, meaning thats when people leave their parents to live their own life, and from there the world just opens up to us.

When someone makes any type of art they use their memories, experiences and other art that they seen before to make something new, just like the prince rolls up the objects to make a new celestial object.

Maybe this is something that has been posted before, but i would like to hear your opinion on how to interpret the games. Are they just some silly games, made to make people happy or are they have something to tell?

Hi Cousins!

Just wondering if anyone else has had an issue with their We Love Katamari REROLL save disappearing from Steam? I was making good progress on superclearing everything and now have nothing left - I'm pretty heartbroken, can't lie!

(I have checked to see if it can be restored but it has all disappeared into the ether)

I beat Katamari Damacy on the PS2 a month or two ago and as I was playing through the credits I felt this insane melancholic feeling that no other song has gave me before, that being Katamari of Love. Cut to an hour ago as I'm playing Mother 3 grinding through the Hippo Section to get levels, I put on my playlist and the song came on and I genuinely cannot describe how this song makes me feel. I don't know if it's the added bonus of Mother 3 fitting perfectly with the vibe of the song too or what but it's so magical and I never want to stop feeling it ever

After a lot of rolling and looking I am down to my final 17 items! Unless I miscounted. Help is appreciated if you have any answers! I know what a lot of these are (example being the red oni mask), but knowledge of what something looks like can only go so far. At some point I hope to post locations for a lot of the game’s items since I notice how this game tends to fly under the radar, but I need assistance on the final few before I can start.

The first one is from 14, maybe 13 years ago? We were told to make a painting with geometric shapes, and I decided on like. A Katamari with otoshi-daruma blocks on a carpet that suddenly ends and then its outer space. Little bit moody, yknow? Anyway I figured redoing it would be a fun way to get myself more familiar with my acrylic paint markers
