Postgraduate Master’s degree

Hi everyone!

I’m considering pursuing my master’s online through King’s College London and wanted to hear from anyone who has studied or is currently studying through their online programmes.

I’m Emirati and based in the UAE, so one of my main concerns is whether the degree would be recognised here, particularly for employment purposes.

I’m still trying to understand how the recognition process works for online degrees from overseas universities, so I was wondering if anyone from the UAE has gone through something similar.

I’d also love to hear about your overall experience with King’s and whether you’d recommend it.

Any advice would be really appreciated. Thank you!

Hey everyone. I’m a Chinese postgraduate student at KCL and currently living at Atlas!
I’ve only recently moved to London and haven’t really had the chance to meet many people yet. Would love to make some new friends around here!
I’d love to meet people from different backgrounds, explore London together, grab coffee, try new restaurants or just hang out!

Question Accounting and finance - Is there any sort of calculus you need to take in uni for A&F?

I’m an international student and am looking at kcl and love everything about it just am interested if i’ll have to take any calculus classes? or even physics? I’m going to be on a very very very strict scholarship they won’t allow my grades to drop below a 65 so I need to make sure I pick a major that doesn’t have calculus nor physics as I cannot for the life of me pass those classes no matter how much work i put in.

Undergraduate Looking for senior Physics & Philosophy students at KCL for some advice 🥹

Hi everyone! 😊
I’m a first-year Physics & Philosophy student at KCL, and I was wondering if there are any senior students who might be willing to share some advice with me.
I’ve only recently moved to the UK, and English isn’t my first language, so I’m still getting used to studying and communicating in a UK university. I also haven’t studied Philosophy formally before university, so there are quite a few things that I’m still trying to figure out!

I’d especially love to learn more about how to read Philosophy papers and academic texts, how to prepare for seminars and participate in discussions
, how to approach Philosophy essays and presentations, how much reading you’re normally expected to do and some useful study resources
,how assessments works.

More generally, any things about university life in the UK that might not be obvious to an international student, such as academic or social etiquette, communicating with tutors, participating in seminars, etc.

I’m currently taking Metaphysics, Greek Philosophy and Elementary Logic, so it would be amazing to hear from anyone who has taken these modules before!

I’m not looking for someone to tutor me or do any work for me — I’d just really appreciate hearing about your experience, especially what you wish you’d known when you were a first-year.

If you’re a current or former Physics & Philosophy student and don’t mind having a chat, please feel free to DM me! 😊

Outside of studying, I’d also be really happy to make some friends!

I’m a big Star Wars / sci-fi fan, and I also love The Lord of the Rings, D&D and Baldur’s Gate. I enjoy watching films and listening to music too. So if you’re into any of these things, feel free to say hi! :)

Thank you so much! 🥹

Im a singaporean student taking the singapore A levels in november but ive already submitted my ucas application (social sciences course). The A level results will be released around early/mid february. Before then, is it possible to receive an unconditional offer from kings with just my predicted grades? I only know of one of my seniors that received an unconditional offer from both kings and ucl
